Tires looked pretty good when I bought it. Noticed the outer edge of one is unusually worn the other day. Tires really didnt sag much, but it turns out that i've been running them with 20 lbs. I'm hoping running them low caused the damage and I dont have trailer problems

Only 35 lbs too low.....JADA for sure!
That wear pattern don't look good!!! Keep a close eye on the new ones.
You got a bent axle.
Cheap insurance to have the alignment of that trailer checked while you're at it. Trailer tires are expensive and you will ruin a set of new tires by the time it wears enough to confirm a problem. Also, blowouts are no fun especially when you're pulling with a chick truck AND they never happen in a good place.
Wannabe...
I've posted in this subject in the past, so here goes. Most boat trailers come from the manufacturer with undersized axles. Especially for smaller boats. Big green carp boats not so much. When the axle is loaded beyond it's capacity, the tires begin to splay outward like that, causing them to wear on the insides. I found this out the hard way when I was going through a set of tires every year. Took the trailer to a trailer manufacturer and he said I had a half ton axle which wasn't sufficient even though my boat wasn't that heavy. However, loaded with gear and bouncing down the road put a lot more down pressure on the axle. I ordered a bigger axle from Southwest Wheel in Texas for a little over $100 and changed it myself. My tires stopped wearing out.
yep warped axle
You may have axle problems too, but 20# psi DEFINITELY aint good.
This one is wearing on the outside
If the outer edge is worn then its not a "sagging axle" problem. The inner edge would be worn from overloading the axle not the outer.
Most likely just the air pressure, check your U bolts and springs good tho.
Good luck
40 lbs works.
Need to rotate those trailer tires
Gayeway told me they were on upside down. Thanks G. I'll try hanging a stump to fix it
I hope the sag simply had the tire running in an area it shouldn't have
Have ya ever thought that luck has nuthin to do with yo problems? I think it prolly more in the side of no luck. Just a thought fer the day.
i have to get new tires every year but i pull 20,000 to 24,000 miles a year
Going through the same problem of an axle that is not strong enough. Got the boat at a place that is supposed to let me what the damage will be for them to replace the axle. Gotta get new tires also, yeah hah!!
Man, those went way to long!! You were ridin on a prayer.
Notice though, the wear LOOKS like undersized axle wear, wore off the rubber from the inside to the outside, but still smooth, not cupped like ESs.
Course, there ain't enough rubber left to cup on them ragged thangs, but the outside edge isn't cupped.
Maybe the air in the tires was old. See what they'll charge ya to just change the air in the tires.
Ya I have an F&F 1860 and this year is the first year it has been used ALOT. I'm in the process of getting a heavier axle and solving the problem of the tire wear. I got lucky it was noticed when it was an didn't cause major problems.
I think the cupping is a balance problem
ES, I had the same problem when mine was new.
I was running 35psi in my trailer tires, they started
Cupping, feathering & wearing the edges. I to though
I had a bent axle, but no, it was tire pressure. Turns
out I should run 50psi. It does make a big difference!!
Problem solved!!!
Look on the inside of your trailer frame for a tire and
loading information plate and see what it recommended.
I personally think that everything is okay. Time will tell.
New tires look good
I had the same problem earlier this year. It's hard on your bearings when you tires are wearing out like that. You do have a problem. I would have someone look at that as soon as possible.
ES you is one lucky dude!!
All better

Keep a close look at those tires if you have a bent axle it wont take long to show the uneven wear.
Did you have nitro put in the new tires?
