When "pushing" cranks do you run slow that when you are pulling em?
Nope
nope speeds the same.... Sometimes I pull and push at the same time.......If I am running 8 poles on the front...I pull two on each side and push two on each side. Most of the time though I pull 6 off of the back like Scott does.
Can you? Guess what I am asking is how slow can you pull em and get the action out of the bait?
about 1.5 on the bandits slower than that they dont wiggle right. rattle traps work good for pushing
Reason I am asking G is I have caught alot of my fish running slower than what alot of these guys talk about, 1.4 seems tp be a good speed.
What you are doing with a slower speed is bringing the crank up into the "strike zone". 2 ways of finding fish when cranking-- speed and length of line.
When I fish with cranks, which is very seldom, I use a 11/2 oz egg weight above a swivel and the leader. I usually let out 25-30 ft.. I pull Brad's wigglers at 100 to 125 ft. at 1.2-1.4 mph. This will keep them in the 10-12 ft depth. I don't think the size matters. Like I said, you can ajust depths by speed and length of line. Remember this, your most aggressive fish will hit first and usually be the biggest in area.
Rees, I have pushed them at 1.2 mph and caught fish.....I just think they have a better wiggle going a little faster. I only use weights on the line when I am pushing. I do not use any weights when I am pulling.
hey holic do you have a dive chart or something for the wigglers. i bought some wigglers but i dont have a dive curve chart like for the bandits. also do you have good success on the wigglers. any help would be appreciated. thanks
From my experiance the Brads Wigglers are about in between a Bandit 200 and a Bandit 300......just think of them as a 250.....they run a little shallower than a 300 and a little deeper than a 200.
I have had good success with the wigglers. I like them, I think they have a tighter wiggle than the Bandits.
okay thanks G. in your opinion have you had days where the wigglers out catch the bandits because i have pulled them a few times but i just dont have confidence in them yet and just was wondering if i was not giving them enough chance to be productive.
thanks G i guess you answered my question while i was typing
Give the wigglers another chance.....I still use Bandits because they are good and I have a good many of them, but I use the wigglers too and like them.....I also use the Wally Marshal Crappie Cranks which are now Crappie Max and I like them. I also use Bill Norman Deep Little N's and I have pulled and caught crappie on the larger Norman DD-22's
thanks G i will. I also have some fatfish that I want to try. they look basically the same as the wigglers.
I would say the wigglers run about the same as the old Storm wiggle wart.
would like to get some of Brads to try, need to find some old ones that need painting
