Falls Lake Monday Afternoon
Fished in the first cove east of the UBC boat ramp today. The boat was in 5 ft of water and I was casting a small orange/brown jig next to laydowns about 1 and a half foot under a bobber. I would guess the water depth was about that as well. Managed 10 fish in about a hour and a half. Pretty good I think considering the windy conditions. The wind was really blowing and it was difficult to keep the boat where I wanted it to be, also blew the bobber around. Hopefully the wind quiets down as we get into the week. The Crappie are getting really dark now. So look like the spawn is upon us.

"Got crappie", you heard right.
Was @ falls yesterday and was slaying the crappie. Must have caught 100 in 5 hours. This weekend most of the crappie fishers will be @ the crappie classic @ Jordan lake, so you should do well.
Like everyone else was saying, launch @ hayes barton and hug the shore till you find a good spot with a lot of structure.
Good luck.
Upper Barton Creek on Monday
I fished to the left of the boat launch. I found some keepers in 5 to 7 feet of structure with minnows. I found that I caught bigger fish with larger minnows. When I used the small minnows I caught all the small ones I could want. They are in the stumps and laydowns. The local baitstore on Six Forks Road said they are catching them heavy in Beavercreek. I'm going to fish Falls Saturday and Sunday and Jordan on Monday. I caught 35 in 1-1 1/2 pound range two weeks ago on Jordan on Beaver Creek. I have a couple of sure fire honey holes there that always produce super slabs. The hybrids are in the Roanoke right now heavy. Can't go there though. For this weekend I will be the Slabinator!
