Don't know what to think about this one. Plead guilty and get out. Continue to plead innocent and stay in prison. What would y'all do? Did they really do it? No one will ever find out if they plead guilty and get freed. Case Over!

I just cant seem to wrap my simple minded brain around this one ? Now how much will the government pay them ?? Hey why dont they offer Charles Manson this deal ????? Poor ole Jeffery Dahmer, jail justice was served to him and he didnt get this deal. Man what is the world coming to !!!!!
I think if the Science said they did not do it then....... The new DNA evidence i suppose to set them free.
I dont have a problem with the fact that the DNA doesnt match, I just dont understand why the "pleading guilty" sets them free, why not just exonerate them or whatever that big word they use. If the proof is not there that they did it even after all these years, why have them plead as they did it ? Unless if they were deem not guilty Im sure the guvment would have to pay out big time but again I dont understand all the legal wranglings goin on in front of or behind the scenes
There was no evidence that they didn't do it. The DNA that the investigators collected just wasn't a match to the 3 that were convicted. Nothing has been proved either way as to their guilt or innocence. They were convicted on circumstantial evidence, but I go with the where there is smoke, there must be a fire theory. Them admitting guilt and then being freed with time served is a legal ploy to prevent a wrongful prosecution lawsuit against the powers that be.
Just went out and read the wikipedia deal on this. Have heard of the West Memphis 3 but never knew what the deal was. Now I wish I hadn't. Sad all the way around. And if ya'll ever hear of me planning a trip to West Memphis, stop me.

It always looked like a some poor, unlikeable kids were fingered for the killings for lack of a better suspect.
They used an Alford plea, which allowed them to plead guilty to a lesser offense, first-degree murder, while still claiming innocence.
I ain't got no dog in that fight, but from what I read on Wikipedia, about all them 3 are guilty of is begin extra ignernt. Bunch of holes in the case.
With that amount of evidence set as the bar to convict, I advise each and every one of ya'll to stay out of West Memphis.

i am with minner on this one. i just had to turn my tv off of the local memphis channels. the site of those fat azz buzzard lawyers standing two deep behind these three clowns make me sick to my stomach.. i bet they are licking their chops right now. just wish part of the plea deal was that they could not make a dime on movies, books, interviews etc. oh, by the way, the dixie chicks suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahhhhh yall saw Natalie too !! no bleached blonde hair, guess she thought she might not be recognized, but hey their days are behind them anyway :)
The dixie chicks AIN'T!!!
From what I heard last night on the late news is that if they plead guilty and were released part of the deal was they could not profit from book Orr movie deals and could not sue for unlawful imprisonment. If they plead not guilty the might get a new trial but might take another 4 or 5 years and would have to stay in prison. My opinion is like some others, the one that really knows who did it will take care of the right one in due time and it ain't gona be pretty or quick.
Yep, it's a sad thing. Dixie Chicks, Johnny Depp, the dude from Pearl Jam, etc. They all suck. They're money and influence set em free. How can anyone stop these guys from profiting from this deal. The state didn't have a case, and didn't want to spend the money to retry the case. The State preyed on these guys wanting out of jail to get a win-win deal for themselves. Didn't care that three convicted murders get out. The worst part is now we'll never know who really did it. Case over.
If they were innocent, why did the Miskelly dude confess at first?
