I like the looks of it with the black head Skip. You always do great work.
Nice!Thumbs Up
Both look good. Definitely reflective. Like ship, I like the black head more.
Oh Yea!! those would work on the lakes that I fish so I have to ask ....."Skip what do you call that chenille"?
Thanks guys!
I ordered it special from Danville. I don't know of anyone that has it. It's Black & Silver Crystal.
Skip
that looks really good
very nice!!!
Nicely Done. About the only thing that comes close to that chenille that I know of is one called Salt and Pepper. I got a 1/2 skein of it from Crazy. I did some like the bottom one but I did mine with Squirrel tail (Gray natural ) . I think that I need to do some like the top one. Do like the silver head.

Good looking jigs skip.:)
I like 'em both!
Yeah, they look good. Thumbs Up!!!
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it.
I got this idea last fall and just decided to get the materials to do these a few weeks ago and had been thinking about it all this time. Sometimes I just do that and take a lot of time to think it over.

That chenille is availabe still! Breezy Hill Tackle has it!
them are sure some fancy looking jigs...............
That makes no sense at all.
I did a search of Breezy Hill Tackle and came up with nothing on it. At least they are not on the web. So I do believe that Skip is right. I use to buy from Danville when I tied commercial. They made me a special chenille that was a tinsel core. I was very popular with the walleye crowd in the upper mid-west. We would buy skeins of it. I still have a bunch that I tie with on certain jigs. It was a for runner to the new age stuff we see today.
And I will stand by my statement that the closest your going to come to that is Salt and Pepper from Crazy Angler. Here is the link http://stores.crazyanglertackle.com/-strse-148/NEWAGE-CHENILLES/Detail.bok

Skip, I don't believe they have a website, her name is Carolyn and email is [email protected]. You may be correct, it may be slightly different but probably as close as you can get! They do have a lot of discontinued item stil in stock. It might be worth a shot!
Thanks, but I buy this from the Mfg., mind is all black and silver and I came up with it last year and had a sample since then and just got off my duff and got it. I am like that. I bought some stuff over a year ago and have not tied it until this morning, LOL! I just get behind and have stuff I don't have time to mess with and then forget I have it.
A sample is this ...

I will PM
Skip, that black headed one is sweeet. I'll bet they both work well, but one will work better on a cloudy day and the other on a bright day. Real nice.
Excellent.
Ill bet that would look good with a powder blue head also.

Chenille body colors are unlimited and if you are looking for a color combo and don't have it like the black/silver simply twist two single colors together. I tie two colors in at the head, wrap it back to the bend and return the thread back to the head. Then start twisting the two together and once you get it long enough wrap it back up to the head and tie off. You can make different body colors with the same chenilles by twisting then tighter or looser.
Dang, I can only see half of the jigs, can't see the heads. But the bodies look great. I can see those tails twittering in the water and BAM Fish On! I've never tied before, but I think that's going to change soon. Those look nice Skip
Come on Crappiedoc get your feet wet become addicted like the rest of us. If your going to tie one on it might as well be a jig hand tied.
