I'll take a "tough" day like that any time!
Where did you catch them at??
That's some good fish. I wouldn't mind having a tough day like that either.
Like David said, "we didn't kill'em", meaning it wasn't our best day on Ferguson but sure wasn't the worst either. Anyway, I think the final keeper talley was 18 Crappie, 2 Catfish and 2 largemouth bass. We also caught a couple of really nice white bass that we threw back, plus one gar and 7-8 smaller crappie. We wound up letting 7-8 crappie get off due to the short bite. We tried spider rigging with jigs but for some reason they just wouldn't bite the jigs today. Spider rigging with jigs and/or roadrunners is always our favorite technique and we have a tendency to leave the crankbait rods at home more often than not. Maybe the faster speed of the cranks was triggering a "reflex bite" whereas the slower jigs weren't stimulating their attention enough to initiate a bite? At any rate we needed to get back into practice with the crankbaits anyway.....it's been a few months since we used them and they definitely have their place at times. BTW, These fish were in deep water out from the edge of the channel. They were suspended 12-14 ft deep.
Nice fish. I'll be glad to go with you on your next tough day. ;-)
WTG Steve and David them some Big Ole Good Un's right there. You Guys ever Work? LOL
Nice catch, guys! Those are some nice fish. Thanks for the post and the pics.
WTG David and Steve, good mess of fish. Versatility pays off.
Glad y'all caught some.
nice fish guys
Nice mess of fish guys! Sorry I had to miss that trip. Wish I could've been there. Maybe we all can get together next week and go south! Arkansasbowhunter check your PM's.
ben that sounds good but im lookin for a youngin wed so im gonna have to take a rain check for a little while, looks like your gonna have to take my place for awhile. lol tite line to everyone for a couple months!
Blue thunder, let me tell you how to do it. Wifes labor pains were 25 minutes apart when I went duck hunting. I told her if they got any closer to come blow the horn at the levee. A couple hours later had a limit of ducks and was on the way to the hospital for the birth of #1 son. I don't recommend this and using this advice may result in bodily injury.
Good luck
rcc that was a bold move, lol. you sure took one for the team! ill stick with the original plan.
Yeah. I kinda think that crossed the line from bold to stupid. Go and take care of the family. Those crappie will be there when you get ready to go again. Your first?
Those are some nicens fer sure.
naw its our second and plan to be our last, we're not finding out what it is so its gonna be a suprise.
David, when that other little girl gets here, lol, go ahead and call me and I'll come get your boat and keep the cobwebbs off it. You know you gonna have to get a bigger boat so you might as well sell that one to me. Good luck bud and we'll be praying for you and the wifey.
Good fish guys!!! Congrats on the new addition blue!!!
