Great news! Just talked to the AG&FC to the department that handles design of the conservation plates and was told that the Black Crappie won the recent "Pick a Plate" voting with about 40% of the vote! We done good, guys! Hands Clapping Lady told me that the new plate would come out in January. She is involved in the design of the plates and I asked her if she needed any input from crappie fishermen and she said they ran all their plate designs by the biologists in charge of that species before they finalize the design, so we ought to be good there. They've done a good job on all the rest of them, in my opinion, so I anticipate the black crappie plate will be good as well. I asked her if anyone who already had a conservation plate could swap it out for a black crappie plate in January when they come out, as opposed to waiting until your renewal date, and she wasn't sure but said she thought for $1.00, you could exchange. But she said not to hold her to that though. I want to personally thank Billy E for bringing this to our attention, and to also thank every one of you who took the time to go to AG&FC website and vote. As I said, "We done good!" Thumbs Up
