I have a 967 and a 987 that I have been running on a interlink with good success for several years. I have dropped the 967and added a 1197 . Didnt change anything but unit and transducer. The 987 will not communicate with 1197 . What may my problem be ? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Check that they are running the same software version.

I dont know ! Both units are registered in Eufaula. I guess I could call them. How else would I find out ?
When your unit powers up...choose the bottom of the 3 listed options...."System Status" I think it's called....
This is where you can see your current sw version that is installed...

The 987 is 4.770/4.1.1/son2xtf1.001 the 967 verson5.420/ humminbird PC version 4.1.1/ the 1197 version 4.1.1 /1.001 /5.500 and 1.001 These are all the updates that have been added to these units. U tell me. ?????????????

Are you sure that you loaded this software into both of these units or is this what is showing your Humminbird account?
To check the software version:
- Power the unit on as normal but when it is still showing the title screen (shows something like: Humminbird 987c Si Combo”); press the MENU button.
- The screen will change to show three or four menu options. Use the Up/Down Arrow to select System Status.
- The screen will change and show the unit’s software version along with some other information.
This is what is showing on my HB account. I talked to Eufala today . They said that the software is not compatible . I will have to change the 1197. I will take it to them next week . Only an HR away. Sorry about the delay. Mu phone line has benn out for a couple of days. I appreciate the help.Quote:

Before I even consider making the trip over here; I would make sure that someone knows of a software combination for those two units that will allow both units to work with the InterLink (I do not). That would have to be a much older version of software for the 1197c Si unit and even at that; it may not work well.
thanks Greg ! I did and they did ! I was there this morning . I lost some of the features. None that were critical. Contour was one. I didnt use it anyway. I dont know what else was lost but I can live without it until I can do an upgrade on the 987. The interlink is worth any loses that I may have. thanks for your help. I truly thought about that but I know how it is with interruptions while working. Sense you offered I will for sure check you out next trip. seems like I get down that way a couple of times a year. Thanks again !
