I have not deer killed a deer in several years and have been letting my nephew kill one for my freezer, I just don't hate em like I did lol. But I love to hear that thunder chicken roar in the spring which always presents the problem of hunt or fish. My wife says thats not really a problem but she just don't understand.:D
I bowhunt in Illinois where I live and I gun hunt down your way near New Concord. I have a friend that lives there and he owns about a hundred acres of
woods in that area.
I hunt crappie lol
Boy I love to do me some deer hunting...but thanks to the florididiots that have come and bought most of the private land up I'm out of options this year...I've hunted in Lewis County KY the past 5 years but due to working with the sheriffs dept. this year I don't have as much time as I use to. I'm still looking for some where close that doesn't have every drunk redneck sitting across the hollar from me. I've had bad experiences on game lands here in NC so i try to steer clear!
deer and turkey in Northeast MO, squirrel, rabbit, dove, duck and geese in southeast MO, also duck in NW TN, dove season is coming up then teal, I can't wait, already shooting the bow too!!
I still deer hunt because of too many hunters with not enough land. Tried turkey but coudn't stand watching ticks crawling up pants leg and the whole time thinking I would rather be on the lake.
I've hunted Deer and many small game in the past. I love to hunt birds as much as I like Crappie fishing. My knees have other ideas. Lately I just hunt Dove in early September and chase my Crappie, and thank God every day that I can still do those. If I never take another Deer I hope to still sit and watch the woods come to life on a cold fall morning.
Check out this Buck that was hit near Kentucky Lake a few days ago.
This Buck has 7 or 8 small Droptines.
This is a true story, this Buck was hit by a car this week about 25 miles from my house.

I hunt, but fall crappie fishing is nice too, great weather less crowds
I agree with a few of the guys, if you're fishin you're hunting, just different prey.
I usta bird hunt quail cause there usta be a lot of quail here. The red fox got most of them and the skunks and the coyotes got the rest. Tree huggers reintroduced the fox and coyote here. Great!!!!! The red fox got most of the quail and the skunks and the coyotes got the rest.We have a few skunks, but most of the stinky ones migrated to Washington,DC.
I love to crappie fish in the spring and deer hunt in fall and winter. I rarely will fish in fall but may need to check out reelfoot in fall if all them stumps are exposed. i love me some jig fishing. The best way to catch crappie is jigging!! ;)
The Kentucky Bow Season starts on September 3rd, I am getting ready.

Stan Potts just harvested a giant 197 inch Buck in Western Kentucky a few days ago.
