Great video, very nice cats, what kind of jugs are those?
Looked like yall had TOO much fun!Thumbs Up
ha yeah thanks! 8 inch pvc, 16 inches long, capped with eye bolts through one end, hand painted, we put golf balls in some of them, but it's really not necessary, it takes a big fish to hold it under for more than a split second, and 5 lbers or smaller can go unnoticed unless you're right on top of em.
That looks like a blast. And a great boat to do it from. What were you using for bait?
hot dogs soaked in secret sauce, ya know, now that ya mention it I don't think it's 8 inch, maybe 4, maybe 5 or 6, I'm gonna measure em next time I'm home
Why the golf ball?
My guess is that it acts like a rattle in a crankbait. Just a guess.
It looks like 4" to me, not sure what the golf balls are for.
yeah it's 4, golf ball makes a lot of noise when the jug is snapped down, sometimes you can't see em very well but you can hear 'em.
Enjoyed the vid thanks.
How deep were you fishing?
6 ft, we won the big tourney in the same place we filmed this video
I sure don't want to ask where y'all were, but what kind or kinds of places do you look for to drop your jugs out? depth, bars, bluff banks, dropoffs, etc.? I would have thought you would have been deeper in the Mississippi.
Anything from 12 to 22 foot deep is what we target, once the water gets too low to float the dikes, like now, we either float in between em or off the tips, depending on the width of the channel, we have a lot of barge traffic so floating tge tips can be sketchy, drop offs and structure under water are where we catch most of em, during the tourney, we floated the same float 9 times, alot of people pick up and move if they don't catch any, we keep saturating the same area, it works!
Thanks for the very informative message.
