That looks like some great fishing water. Wish I was there. We all know that all of Bob's jigs work well in catching Crappie. He is a true genius and a true friend. Nice report and photos James.
thank you James for the report I'm glad to hear that there crappie denture is working good we always look forward in hearing about our plastic baits doing the trick.
I am jealous you get to do so much fishing. I hardly ever get to go, I sure am missing it. Tell that youngen to catch a few for me to.
Congrats.:)
Looks like y'all had a good day of fishing with some nice crappie caught. Thumbs Up
@ SHIP...hey your ever back up this way Ive got an open seat for you any time.......
@ SEEKER....man I will tell ya, I wouldnt trade nothing for all my fishing time with Jr.....I miss alot of O-T doing it, but again no $$$$ would be worth the time him and I get out....
@ SNAKE.....hey I like these new ones ALOT....they could give the icicle a run for its money.....time will tell for me, but I may have a new favorite....can wait to see what you come up w/next.....
hope every ones well, have a great one all, God bless!!!
Appreciate that my friend.
we just got through saying in a design by crappie seeker to see if we can have some molds made I think you'll really like it it's totally different in we are sending after a multicavity crappie dancer I deftly want one with a lot of cavities so we're going to have one made a monster will have to start didn't busy and making a plastic baits I truly love that dancer I think that is sharp looking and it's very simple to shoot.
Good job James....I always enjoy the reports and pictures that you and Jr. make.....makes me almost feel like I was there.
SNAKE....I tell ya, I like this one as well as the icicles.....thats saying alot.....I caught a ton on the icicles this spring, now I will take for ever to decide between the two
Rofl
"G".....I love the summer when hes off school, we get out twice a week w/my work schedule and him being off, its great.....
I am ranking the crappie dancer number one because it is a terrific bait and it surely looks good you guys finished with it more than I have I haven't even got in the water yet hope to this week to run down and fish for a few hours hope to get some more made up I made a up a few today when I was making jelly jig bodies for somebody else we are making them also and 2 colors which is not hard to do with them I know I listed them on my site is one color but they are available in 2 I'm glad that you are enjoying them I would imagine that the dancer would be good for bluegills and also bass I would like to get some of those made up in larger size say like a three and 4 inch for the bass guys. Is very warm here today and suck around 90 or so. We are opposed to have hot weather for quite a while coming up.
thank you ship I know that most of my plastic baits are great fish producers do you know that I haven't even finished with most of them we have so many things to do that I do not have time to even fish which I hope that will change is the summer goes by we are going to try to get my John boats 14 footer ready for fishing I put my 18 foot up for sell to bigger boat to handle all by myself we are looking forward in doing some serious fishing later.
yea those 2 color dancers look great!!!!......like I said its a toss up between those & the icicles, but you have a great lure on your hands I know that.....its pretty nasty hot here also, havent been out for a few days (going though with draws Rofl )......been busy getting ready for a week at lake erie.....gonna do a little bit of everything up there....gonna bass fish ( both smallmouth & largmouth) see if we can find some crappie in the bays, blue gills in the bays also, ring perch fish, and of course the toothy wallys, looking forward to it...havent been on the water in 4 days or so........geez :D.......any how looking forward to erie, gonna try the dancers on a light head and shooting docks with it if the crappie are there.....will post a report if we find any in the bays, hope every ones doing well.....have a great one all, God bless!!!!!!
Yes give us a report on those dancers, would think they would be great dock shooters this fall when I can get out..
always looking forward and reports that you may have Jeep we plan on going tomorrow night to try those dancers out ourselves is we've had reports of 12 and 13 inch fish so I'm pretty anxious to find them won't be putting a boat and right now too many people on the water here because of the Fourth of July we will wait for a week or two when things die down before I put a boat him we Sent off to samples to be made up into molds we have a brand-new one that seeker sent me a mockup we passed it on to the mold maker also we're going to get a multi-or I should say a bigger cavity mold for the dancer the dancer is too good to be true it is a lovely looking plastic bait and I think it's going to be a/once the guys start using it we don't have anything else on the drawing board except one large capacity mold that we may get from a leading mold maker this will be a Stinger style similar to what crazy angler has on the market but not exact we are debating on that one I don't see anything else that we would be interested in in the market right now everything is pretty slow on new crappie stuff but we will keep a close eye on what the boys are up to you never know we will gladly take designs from all you guys that have something that you would probably want made up we will take a look at it and if we like it we will have a mold cut we are definitely interested in anything and I know that you guys definitely have quite a few brainstorm ideals on plastic baits also would be interested in getting some bigger baits for bass we will be working on that in the future I don't want pot hopper I didn't say that right but you get the guy right ahead of me on the swing baits he definitely has some fantastic looking stuff and I am joining seeing what he is come up with hope to see more plastic baits on here guys I know quite a few you are pouring is see which you have we have quite a few guys on here are definitely interested in a wide variety of molds and plastic baits we like to keep a lot of interests on this post so come on guys is see which you have we we be posting more stuff as the weeks go by we will try to pick up on that for sure.
We are up at Erie now, gonna shoot some docks w/the dancers tomorrow, perch fished the main lake today, got a 4 man limit, 120 total in about hour and half maybe two.....was a great time, bass fished one of the harbors yesterday, caught 12, biggest was maybe 3lbs.....http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...TE1NC5qcGc.jpghttp://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...TE1MS5qcGc.jpg
that is a lot of perch James we do catch them here like that in the snake they average about 8 to 12 inches and sometimes we get some monster perch good going I'm glad you guys had a lot of fun.
Erie is an awesome fishery. When you get into the jumbo prech it can be fast and furious. This is true especially around Kelly's Island and the Power Plant area. Well done.
nice catch jeep and cant wait to see the mold snake
I haven't heard back from my mold maker but I'm assuming that he will answer real quick I use the dancer last night and caught one smallmouth Bass about a pound and a half the crappie were not hitting at all so I cut it off short and come home to blast of hot it was 102 yesterday here at the house and I believe it was a lot warmer down on the snake River.
it has been hot here too snake, not 102 but hot enough. The humidity here is what makes it unbearable
96 here for the 23rd straight day. Forecast is for two more weeks of the same.
yep ship we have had to endure it for a while, I am about sick of it
it was 102 two days ago and been staying in the 90s here the heat has been terrible here it has cooled off today but going right back to 80s and 90s again we have hot weather all the way through July and August every year it averages 90s and 100° through these two months.
I caught 10 slabs yesterday.....caught a whole bunch of short fish and threw them back. Could not get a bite on soft plastics, tied jigs, or live minnows. The only thing they will hit in this hot weather is a Bandit crankbait eith 200 or 300 size. I was miserable all last winter so I am not going to complain about the heat. My arthritus is a lot better and does not bother me as bad when its hot.
where did you get them bandit crank bait they have not made Dills for quite some time and less this is a different version the last ones that I used were soft plastic I still have a few they stopped like a sad making them quite some time ago I'm glad to hear that you've got some fish it is been very slow care like I said I've only caught one smallmouth Bass the other night know crappie I could not get those suckers to hit anything course I did not try all the different jigs that I was caring it was too hot to mess with a lot of stuff anyway I should've stayed later into the evening just before dark sometimes they'd turn on don't know about your part of the country but the habits out here are early morning in in the evening if we have a cloudy day they will hit all day but I believe this is a common thing with crappie at a quarter cross the US you cannot use live bait here in this part of the state don't know why most of the water in the snake River is full of trash fish anyway lots of cap and small fish and other white fish we could only use live bait and Tidewater asked on the west side of the state but we called the Valley or the swamp could put it a little bit plainer Portland Oregon area is most of the rivers that go into the lower half of the Columbia RA and Tidewater. It was very predictable to fish Tidewater in the summer months the basswood coming to feed when the tide was coming in is it put water into the shallows where the lagoons were that had pipes it would flow back into the river when the tide was going out the crappie would feed in front of them most of the lagoons hold trash fish which the babies got flushed out through the pipe when the water was going down.
You can get the Bandits most anywhere.....BPS has them. They are hard plastic. Ship....I have been bothered by arther for years. Have taken Celebrex, Mobic, and others...Naproxin works best for me. Some flare ups I have to take the Naproxin along with Darvocets the pain is so bad. I still fish and do what I want.....I do not take this stuff on a regular basis....only when I can't stand it. Ibuprofin does not help me.
