Whether using braid or mono, always use a small barrell swivel and then 8 or 10lb leader. I prefer Vicious Hi-Vis Yellow 12lb and 8 or 10lb Vicious florocarbon. I'm not a big fan of braid except when jigging in heavy cover.
when slow trolling I also tie about a 3 foot 10# floro leader to the braid, other than that I am all braid
Yes he is. Corn row to be exact

just wait you little @$@#
dont worry about ES tritonman he jus mad kus he's ugly and his moma dresses him funnyDoh
AHHH, that's the pic text I got from him last night AHHH HAHAHA Hey Meat Getter. It depends on the clarity of the water. If you got muddy or stained water, it really don;t matter that much. We got into this whole Braid vs mono thing at Enid last year around the camp fire. Both sides had their points and some said it made a difference with some saying it didn't. I was running 20 lb hi-vis braid on my jigs poles and still would cept I can get mono cheaper. They can see the line though but not enough to stop them from biting the thing. There will be times when they are finicky though that it might cause them to not bite but not to often. Try yourself a little test. Put 2 poles with braid and 2 mono set one of each with the same baits and same depths. See which ones work better
get off of here CN.....NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like the beads.
Think you'd look good with Corn rows Morris. LOL
Not EVERYONE can pull off THAT look!!!
The military has really loosened up
get Morris some hair extensions and braid them up with some colored beads, he could pull it off.
ES, at least we ain't loosened up enough to let you in yet
Triton, see if EZ or Maachuu or Scott can paint up some of them beads to match your eyes.
MeatGetter - I tie direct here on Grenada. I'd consider a leader at times on Enid or Sardis if I fished there a lot, but probably wouldn't go to the trouble. Maybe some place like Pickwick or Ross Barnett in the summer or maybe Enid/Sardis when they get pretty clear, but for the most part, In MS, a leader is not needed.

thanks guys see you at washington!!!!!
HUH? Barnett Clear? AHHH HAHAHA when it's clear you can't see the tail of a 12 inch fish with his head sticking out of the water. Put on some White swim trunks and jump in, They'll be brownish red when you get out
Maybe I disremember, but it seems to me that RB cleared way up at times when I was down there. May just remember it that way since I was used to seeing Grenada.

Prob so cause Nader is like a big ole bowl of chocolate milk
Dunno. I can strictly remember pitching a jig in plumbers slough to a fish I could see that was 4' deep. Caught him too. Then I remember some gin clear water in a slough off the river above 43 too. Was using a bubblegum trick worm and had to step down to a spinning reel that had 8# test on it to get the bites. Stands out too because with that spinning rod, I had trouble setting the hook through that worm and missed a couple dozen fish because of it too.

Man, you got Pickwick on da brain. I will say I ain;t been in the back waters in the summer time though so MAYBE it clears up back there. Barnett will rival Grenada at time. Especially over in Pelahatchie bay when the gates are wide open
I have seen 3-4 foot visibility in the main lake, river and everything in between. It all depends on the rain fall as what gets clear and when. WB, you are absolutely right about some of them back water areas, the get the grass and pads in them and it looks better than tap water.
In other words - "Don't listen to DD. He's a idjit", right Triton?

I ain;t never seent it.
