Twin Spins
I havent posted anything in a while so I thought I'd post these. After doing alot of pouring and tying traditional jigs I get the urge to be a little creative. I used small .02 spinner bait wire to make the side arms to attach the swivels. I had no idea how these would perform. But a quick test in the pool had pleasing results. The jigs swam straight at all speeds and the blades spun freely. Im sure bass would be more likely to hit the jig than crappie, but I plan to catch one on it some day!:D

Those are really nice. They will catch you some Crappie along with the fun of catching some good bass on light tackle.

Looks like the spinners are working well in the pic. Thumbs Up

I like the Electric Chicken jig. Nice job. Tell me again the advantages as well as disadvantages of the double spin set up.

Yes, I would say those jigs are the Cadillac of Spinners!! Very nice.

I take it you wrap the spinnerbait wire around the hookshank and tie it in with thread?
-
Thanks y'all!
Yes you can just tie them in along the shank. Just beef up the thread real good. Once I got them secure I figure 8 the wires like tying in dumbbell eyes.

My rope dub friend is tying some red fish flies with spinners and I ask him to tell me how he was doing that for a possible use on jig or even some flies with a good head weight. I have that and just have not tried any yet. Will later at some point.
Once I get time and try it I will post them too.

Tying in single spinners is fairly simple. Slide a swivel over the hook and tie in where you want it placed. Heres a great tutorial for it.

Real nice work, and good ties. I like the down swept one better, maybe try one that has them swept up instead?

I don't doubt you'll get strikes aplenty. I'm wondering whether the wire arms will interfere with hooksetting by preventing the lure from moving forward in a closed mouth of a taker. Let us know.
