thanks guys I have to go down that way to pick up a trailer. Now I am trying to figure out how to tow my boat down and back so I can fish there- plus tow my new trailer back to KC!!(not realistic) looks like I may not get to fishing
Was there this past weekend. Rainbow fishin was good. Caught limit in less than hour and spent rest of afternoon catch and release. I was above gastons going up and then drifting back. Using chart. Powerbait and corn on same hook on bout 2 ft leader with small ( bout 4-5 in) drop line with small sinker. Hope this helpTom
thanks tommy
kc,
You can rent a boat and motor there at the marina in the state park. Not sure of the cost as I have my own. Also, guides are plentiful up there, if you want to spend the money. Hate to see you miss out on the fishing.
looks like I will have to just go pick up my trailer in Garfield and go home. Probably make a seperate trip to Taneycomo with the family. Just can't justify renting a boat or guide when I have a boat and ability to do it myself. One of these days I hope to fish below Bull Shoals dam. Spent lots of days on the lake proper but never in the river.
If you like to trout fish, I'd make that a priority. Good place to put in on West side of the river is White Hole Access. You can google earth the river and find it real easy. Unless the water is low you can motor all the way to the dam and fish some good areas on the way back down. I also like to put in at Wildcat Shoals Access a little farther downstream then go up the river. Some pretty good fishing between White Hole and Wildcat Shoals, if you catch the water just right. Good luck to you and hope you get to fish the Upper White sometime soon.
maybe someone here will be up there at the same time and take him fishing? be a good excuse to go fishing.
Now there's a good idea, Old! I won't be back up there until August, but I'd be happy to hook up and fish then. I'm always looking for an excuse to go to the White River!
If someone is interested in taking me out - I would trade you a crappie fishing trip or a Canada goose hunting trip here in KC. If not interested in a trade I would pay for boat fuel, etc... I also have all my own gear & tackle
kc, post up when you are going to be there and maybe someone here can be there too. or maybe you can put off picking up the trailer till someone can take you. just a thought. and the exchange you offered should get a bite.
They are expecting the trailer to be ready for pick up in the next week or two. Thanks for the help oldduckhunter. Let me say I have always enjoyed my fishing trips and duck hunting trip to Arkansas. I was fortunate to hunt the Cache River "timber" once
nothing in the world like timber hunting for ducks. i'd rather work one duck in the timber than 100 in a field.
