Hopping mad at Anchor Express

I order a Minn Kota 4 bank charger from Anchor Express on Sunday and paid extra for next day delivery. Just found out today that they did not have it in stock, had it shipped from a different vendor, and refunded my shipping chargers. Problem is it won't get here until NEXT Monday. If I wanted it NEXT Monday, I would have ordered it NEXT Sunday. I think they should have told me Monday it was out of stock. Then I could have ordered it elsewhere, and still had it by today.
Just goes to show you yet again that the lowest price is not always the best investment.

G, I didn't know Crappie Hotspot sold them. I didn't see them on his website. Sat, I thought about buying Holics but I didn't know if his 15 amp would fit. I know the 10 amp will fit. Actually needed a 15 amp to measure. It would be close.
Anyway, just blowing off steam. I felt if they couln't deliver what they offered then they should have left the decision up to me to cancel or proceed.

Anyone have any ideas why my ten amp portable charger or my buddies 15 amp portable charger won't charge my batteries. Last week I used his 15 amper to charge each of my 3 batteries for ten hours each. Got to the FJ Saturday and the batteries died after 1 hour. Three new batteries. Only the second time they've been charged.

Dont blame ya Ar, I'da been ticked off too.:o

You may have got a defective battery in the 3. It only takes one to mess things up.

i'm kind of agreeing here, think you may have a bad one. those chargers should have done the trick after that long

If they are hooked in series or parallel one bad battery will pull the two good ones down. Un hook them and have each one tested individually.

Got to be a short some where, load test em individually and find the defective one. Getting one hooked up backwards when charging will screw things up as well, I pulled that stunt earlier this year on my cranking bat.

If you are using an extension cord, it may be too small a gauge to get the amperage you need. I was using a 100 ft red cord, not sure the gauge, and I got a larger yellow cord and no problems since.

All good advice to check but I go for a bad battery.

Your problem is not buying my 4-bank charger like Sat said. You could have saved money and time. Sounds like you got a bad battery(s). Do you keep your charger plugged up 24/7? Never unplug them. The new chargers have a trickle charge that kicks on when the battery charge goes down 2%.

Five emails back and forth with Anchor Express and I'm no closer to being satisfied.

Your 15 amp won't fit. If I cancel my order I have to wait on the refund to have the funds to buy another. If Ricky wants my business he needs to let me know what he sells. His website shows no chargers. Considering how these folks screwed up an order, I can only imagine how issuing a refund would go.

What did you order? a 10 amp 4 bank?

Either got bad battery or ground problem on cables in between batteries

If this was going on before you changed batteries, it may be the grounding in cables.Try cleaning them while you checking it out.

Well, this is what you get for juming up and doing something without checking with me, the authoritay, first. Don't worry though, lots of folks have made this mistake. Once.

Anyway...If I understood what you were saying, I'm betting you have 1 bad battery somewhere in the chain. Put a meter on them all and check the standing voltage when they are "fully charged". Although you didn't mention what indication you got for each battery in the chain from the old charger. Normally, if what I'm saying is correct, you'll get 2 fully charged indicators and the third will just never cut off, which can be dangerous BTW.

But, if voltage doesn't indicate the suspect battery, you'll need to move on to check connections, grounds, water in the battery and it'd be a good idea to check your wiring as well....if I understood, you've moved from 24V to 36V. You sure you got it all hooked up right? Again, a meter will tell ya.

If you paid by Credit Card, cancel the order and call the card company. Dispute the charge if necessary. If you paid by check, see if your check cleared yet. If not, you know the routine.

I order all my stuff thru my Team National web site, get free delivery in two days, no sales tax, and occasionally a sale price that is UPCOMING, but not yet published.

Make sure your power cord is heavy enough, check each battery out individually, and clean every connection ONE MORE time. Try charging each battery individually if the 'battery test' proves nothing wrong. Still could be!!

Thanks for the suggestions tellers. I'm going to test everything out when I put the charger in. That way I can make one trip into the back of the boat.

Just looked up Team National and it is a pyramid sales company. Got to join to save. $400 - $2000. Not many good things said about TN.

I never worked at a bank, but I did install one of those drive up banking tube shootin devices in a bank a few years ago.:D

Just looked up the UPS tracking on my battery charger that was originally to ship overnight. It's going to be another day late because the TRAIN !!! they put it on is running late.

Can't believe it's taking this long.

Still no battery charger. Just chased the Big Brown Truck darn near to Memphis only to find out there are two Big Brown Trucks in Southaven. Yep, my package isn't on THAT truck.
Have I mentioned don't ever order anything from Anchor Express?

Bummer for sure. I ordered a item from a company one time and they hit the wrong key and got one number wrong on my zip code.......the ups truck spent several days riding around in another town trying to find a street address that was not there.

I couldn't wait on UPS any longer. At 6:30 I had to leave to take my daughter to a birthday party. On the way out of the neighborhood I saw another Big Brown Truck. Success at last. After 9 days my MK-440D battery charger that was supposed to ship overnight has arrived. The only good thing to come of this is I got it for 25% off retail, which is the best price I could find.

Hey, did I mention, don't buy ANYTHING from Anchor Express!

Before I would go through all of that, I would have made the MK 460D fit and been done with it. But, glad you finally got it.

Lets just cut your losses AR. I'll give you $2500 for your boat, $300 for your trailer and $600 for your motor. As is.
