Not sure if I use the "Huckabee" loop knot, but I have no issues with it on 10/2 braid. I pass my jighead through the loop 2-3 times. What kind of issues do you seem to have. I am sure there are some videos out there on you tube
I seen it on you-tube, tried it, do not like it, it seem to be a weeker knot than the knots I am using now.
I am curious to this as well. I have tried every loop knot I can find and have not found a single one of them to be strong enough for me to feel comfortable using. I hate using three way swivels but that is the only way I can find that gives me the same strength at the line. Every loop knot I have tried is considerably weaker than using a three way.

I've been using the Huckabee knot for 4 years now with no problem. It makes a big difference on what type of line you use for this knot. Todd uses Silver Thread AN 40.
I have watched the vids on youtube...when I tie the knot, it never cinches up as clean. I have little mini loops in the knot and it never ends of where I want it.
I use a polamar knot for hooks and other terminal hardware, but I am buying into the idea that if the jig dangles on an angle, hooksets will be improved cause the crappie is engulfing the whole jig rather than just the tail...
I like the knot cause it looks really easy tie...just can't get the hang of it with braid
Antioch.... I will just have to show you sometime. If anything for me my loop ends up to big at times. That is similar to the one I use but I pass the jig through that loop 2-3x. I use it with braid all the time. It sounds like you may just not be pulling out enough line initially. You have to pull quite a bit through the eye and if you make a big enough loop to pass it through you shouldn't end up with that small of a loop
Its just a 'Surgeons End Loop Knot'.

I start with my line threaded through the hook eye and then treat the doubled line as one line and just proceed tying a overhand knot wrapping it three times before cinching it up.

Just the way I tie mine and don't have a problem with them other than not catching enough fish.
well there you go from the pro LBM...thats the one I use....I like it too...i think the palomar is a better overall knot for strength, but I do not catch big enough fish to worry about it :) I think the loop knot helps the jig look more natural

normally the loop is about 3 inches long with bonus minis at the knot itself...looks like shinola
The end loop on mine would have been much longer but before closing the overhand knot I use the jig eye to hook inside the loop and force the knot to close further down the line closer towards the jig head. Before finally cinching the overhand knot let the jig eye come out of the overhand knot loop. This will put the final knot closer to the jig head thus a much shorter loop for the jig to hang from.
Lee...stay closer to those feeders and that'll solve the no catching issues
nice reply, though, with the pictures Lee......that was a nice easy to follow demo......thanks
best thread going for a while gets moved go figure have to run lbm down to see how it is done pics not telling me enough?

LBM is correct. It is just a surgeon's loop.
I use it for certain things, but I prefer the non-slip mono loop for tying to a jig or fly. It's been around for awhile, but I learned it from a saltwater fly fishing guide. It's stronger than the surgeon's loop and much easier to tie, IMO. It's the standard loop knot used in a lot of saltwater fly and light tackle spin fishing. Here are a couple of videos:

I have used this knot before while its a good knot it does have its drawbacks when using with power pro 10/2. If the eye of the jighead has even the smallest of gap the power pro will pop through when setting the hook on fish sometimes. It doen't happen every hookset, but if you fish tournaments losing a fish for this reason can really hurt.
