Try tying the Maribou dry instead of getting it wet.
i am tying it dry and then getting it wet 2 see wat it will look like wet. thanks though
Why, you can't see what it will do in the water until you have it in the water and watch it. I tie with mine dry and don't get it wet until I fish it. Marabou is good stuff, but it will get hard to manage if static electricity get in it and then I just use one of the little sheets my wife puts in the cloths dryer to remove it. Just get your wife to keep her used ones for you and when it get like that just hold the little sheet in your hand and pull the marabou through it. If it just a little in the way while tying or finishing you can just use a damp couple of fingers to run over it and it will stay back. No real need to tie it wet, IMHO.

The maribou only fluffs out and back together in the water while the jig is doing it's thing. You can dip it shallow and pull the line and stop and see it working. Yours looks like all other maribou jigs once they get wet and comes out of the water.;)
ok i have fished with maribou jigs all fall and summer
That's the way they look when wet. It's when they're in the water that matters. If you want them fluffed back up just let them dry and hold them in front of a fan for a little bit.
thanks smooth lures
It doesn't matter that it sticks together out of the water. When it's back in the water it fluffs out again just like when it was dry! Nothing to worry about that is completely normal!
If you fish marabou all the time you must know when they dry they fluff back out.... Not buying it.
ok then wat ever u want 2 belive u do that. does any body knw if the jig swap is stil on?
Tie up your Maribou jig then test it in an aquarium or a large clear jar. Not only will you see the action but you will get a feel for how much maribou you need each time to hat the look you want.
Remember to cut the fibers off the stem before you tie them in.
