We fished the tournament and there was a lot more white crappie where caught I cleaned 70 of them plus 40 we caught prefishing and 80 percent was still full of eggs.
We ended the tourament in 9th place out of 34 great teams from around the country meet some very nice people.
Glad you did well James, I was pulling for you. I'm still doing very well, hooked my two biggest crappie of the year Friday, but couldn't get either one in. Did better in the morning this time until about 11 a.m., then again right before dark. You're right, if you know where they are, it can still be a lot of fun. Those two big 'ens hit in about 2 foot of water. There was always at least 6 foot of "flowing" water close by.
You guys qualified for the big one then. Congrats!! I was surprised at the number of fish that were brought in. I would have thought the Crappie were done. I would have never dreamed they would have been in 3ft of water. There isnt many places that I know of that is that shallow thats not covered up with grass.
All the crappie we caught where in 15 to 18 fow and they where busting with eggs I would have never thought they would still have eggs.We caught all our fish spider rigging with minnows tiped with southern pro glow jigs and 10 pound vicious line.
We did get a birth to the big show and we did well for our sponcers we had a great time. there thinking about doing a 2 day when they come back I hope it happens.
I didnt realize who you were at the weigh in, I would have came over and introduced myself. I brought my 8 year old son and he was getting ansy, so we left around 4:30.
Congrats James and Terry for a great tournament and making the cut for the big dance!!
Congratulations James and Terry!
