That's sad. Good reminder that it's more than just people that suffer from this situation.
Lol, I just logged on here to post that same pic. You beat me to the punch....
That is so sad. My wife and I feed and watch several deer at our camp in Arkansas every time we go up. I hate to think of how many deer and other critters will lose their lives to the flood. My heart goes out to the family of the home in the photo also. It looks like a very nice home. Does anyone know where it is located?
Yes that is sad, but what is really sad is the Yo-Yo's that are going to be outlawing, I hope when they get caught they get the max fine and jail time.
X100, it is a crying shame that people poach and then to poach critters trying to run for their lives. Bury em!! It has pained me watching this unfold as I grew up huning and fishing just west of them gates in Morganza by maybe a mile. Hunted between the barrow pits and the river between Morganza and St. Francisville as well. Lots of people and critters will be displaced for a long time.
This is crazy.. I hope they all survive the flood. I am sure the hunting will be messed up for a long time until things get back to normal, if they even do.
I would imagine that, like back in 1973, a lot of deer, etc., will make it to a levee and survive. The way the COE has regulated a slow rise of the floodwater will help to allow this. That wasn't the way it was back in 1973, but the deer made it okay anyway, so this time things might not be quite as hard on them.
I recall W&F placed caution signs on the levees around Krotz Springs warning folks to not mess with the wildlife on pain of - well, they didn't tolerate any poaching whatsoever, and I'm sure that with the coverage all this is getting this year, they will be quickly informed of any such deeds.
And if they need any suggestions, I know a few jails where the bad guys could be buried underneath!
Happy Apocolypse Day.

Apocalypse Day, I thought the radio said the Rapture. Now I have to prepare all over again. I wish these weird-o's would get it straight.
