Looks like easy pickens for poachers!
Thats amazing!!!!
Saw a report on news today with footage of around 100 deer on one island like that. They wouldn,t say where it was. Gonna be rough on all the game up and known the river.
Deer can swim and turkeys can fly..sorta, they'll be a'ight. Turkeys will take the biggest hit with the high water during the breeding cycle.
Mr Jim I believe that the same deer I saw the other day... Laid up on a small concrete rubbish island by the old airport hanger.. Absolutely amazing there was a bobcat on there too.. The old hangar was 80% under water..
Nice photo. Thanks for sharing.:)
That was a great picture.
Water can be SOOOO much fun....and bring SOOOO much heartache.
I live in the edge of the hills along the Yazoo River. We're noticing an increase in deer populations as well as an influx of hogs. These hogs we don't need. I'm hoping they'll go back to the swamp after the water goes down.
Got a pic a few days ago of 2 gaters was taken some where around here.
Stay away BigBlue LOL
Heard on the radio (Paul Gallo) the Game Wardens are saying "have at it" on the hogs even with the high water.

Is there a hog season? Well other than football season when the Razorback are in town.
In MO they tell us to shoot all of the hogs we see. No season, no limits, no license needed.
It's even looser than that here Speck...no caliber restriction neither.
I understand the Delta is overrun with 'em, but I"ve never seen one in the woods. Although I understand there are plenty of them in the lake bottom up Yalabousha.

Ok stupid question time! Are wild hogs good to eat or not? I know when my folks raised hogs on the farm that dad wouldn't even consider killing a boar to eat. He has always said that the meat would smell strong when you cooked it.
We were in rosedale(port city on the levee) and saw four hogs run across the levee and through the middle of town... There are dead deer all along hwy 8 west of cleveland.
Several of them showing stranded animals. Don't know how big that snake is 'cause there's nothing to compare his size to, but he looks healthy...
