BTW he has edge 70.
MK has a model that the arrow indicates the direction of the foot. I don't remember what model it is though.
So the arrow on the top of minnkotas doesn't move in the direction of travel? ( maybe one model)
yes on edge the arrow moves in direction of travel
mine does point in the direction of travel, ive already had three things go wrong with it....cable jumped off and crushed a plastic washer, cant remember the other probs... motortech fixed it for free though. gotta love a warrenty
It should point direction of travel, to adjust loosen the front shaft bracket and rotate till correct.
The clamshell clamp that holds motor to boat?
If its not moving at all, then something is broken correct?
Correct.And correct.
Right under the motor head on the front of the mount, there should be a clamp with a knob that will loosen, the you should be able to adjust the height and direction.
I have an Edge 45, and the arrow indicator on the head always points in the direction of travel and moves with the foot pedal. The clamp on the shaft allows you to adjust the depth of submersion and rotate the whole trolling motor so it stows properly. Rotating the whole motor does not change the direction indicator, it remains lined up in direction of travel. If arrow is not properly aligned with travel direction, something has slipped or broke inside.
I have an edge motor, and cache22 is right, the indicator rotates with the foot control. But if it is off, it has 4 positions it can be put back in. Mine is a 50lb motor and the indicator pops right up off the motor, no disassembly required, and you can put it on to match the travel. BUT it shouldn't have to be changed unless you have some other problems.
