Anyone know what Poinsett looks like right now? Thinking about heading there tomorrow, but dont want to go if it looks like a milkshake.

If it's not muddy I bet there will be plenty of boats there.
Fished it last Saturday the water is up but not as muddy as I thought it would be. Caught 30-40 dinks. No slabs. There was a local bass club tournament with about 30 boats. When I came out at 11:30 the parking lot was full.
Thanks for info petercreek
Hey Dropoff - I fished there Sunday and the water covers the dock walkway at the dam. I caught fish. It will be packed. Use a small jig 1/16 red or black and chartruce and fish the tops. With the water high the tops are everywere. Hope to see you there in the wind and rain. Stick steering seaark tan.
Thanks billy , I'll be there in a camo express with a tiller 50 HP merc. I'll be spider riggin. Hope to see ya there

I got there about 2 or so. Wind was terrible. Wind did die down late evening and made fishing a little easier.
and are there still lilly pads in the upper end of the lake? been years since i fished it and back then there were lilly pads and in those pads were bass and more bass.
that's a shame. there used to be a big patch of them. that had to be back in the 60's.
Old you been on charles recently? What happened to the grass, there is still some down under the water but it dont look to be growing any time soon.
ak, i haven't fished charles in years.
Hey RCC If you can get them out of the brush the fishing is good in the end of the coves. We were there from 12-4 Saturday and caught a few over 11" most were under. If the wind would let us fish I think we would have done better.
go to lake charles. you won't have to take your own tree to fish. i was by there today and there were only 3 trucks with trailers at the ramp. there's no doubt in my mind that they were just absolutely loading the boat with big crappie. and my mind hasn't failed me lately.
i don't remember if it has.
Loading the boat with big crappie or little crappie is all good. They all taste the same and since the invention of photo shop, the fish can be as big as you want them to be.

After. My foootooo shop skills are about like my fishing skills.
rc, the sinker is nearly as big as the fish.
If they don't bite, no problem. Just knock em in the head with a big honkin chunk a lead.
that will work in clear or muddy water.
