Patassa, what's the water temp where you're fishing and how deep are you fishing?
if i had to guess water temp down here is close to 70
I was in the basin this past weekend. Water temp was between 70 and 72 according to my fish finder.

Water temp was around 71-72 degrees. The wind was blowing about 20 mph (felt like 800 mph) and still the gnats ate us for breakfast. I knew it was bad when Patassa wanted to go home after about 15 min. He ran to the store and got some bug spray while I fished and was feasted upon by the biting devils.:eek: A little bug spray and you see the result.
