I see where they are going to do it. Going to flood 130k acres of farm land to save the town of Cairo. Man talk about a tough call.

The casino I worked at b4 they closed on Thursday is between the main levee and a farm levee. They have already cut the farm levee behind the casino. No water in as of yesterday but as the river continues to rise it's gonna fill up like a bowl:(
unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable, where was all this water last summer and fall when we needed it?
Her in Memphis they plan on installing concrete walls along Chelsea avenue... The walls are already in place except for the street crossings..as far I know they have never been used.. Presidents Island is being shut down and we have already started taking electrical substations off line.. Got another 1.5+' expected thru monday..
WS is predicting 4-8 in by tues.
I pray for all that is affected by this water. I am glad I am on a big hill in the middle of 100 acers. If anyone needs a place to stay send me a message.
I am thankful that we are out of the bottoms too. We're on top of Crowley's Ridge now. I hate it for them. Lots of water out in the bottoms. They have been in a stink all week with blowing the levee. Went to court (waste of time and money, Corp's got the authority), Kentucky and Tennessee got their two cents in during court too, I think. Who could blame them though, Tennessee has their own water/levee problems, Kentucky too. I assume they will at least offer something to the farmers for the washouts, maybe fill the scour hole for them. What a mess.
+1
They have not blown the levy yet. They have issued a mandatory evacuation for Cairo at midnight tonight.
