Tornado

Tornado hit my community this afternoon about 3:30 pm It took the entire roof rafters and all off of one neighbors house and dropped it out in a hay field. At my house it took both of my power poles down and one of them barely missed my truck, blew a few sheets of tin off the tractor shed...... I don't know about my barn down the road yet. just got my power back on....Got another neighbors shop and the guy next door it blew down a couple hundred feet of picket fence and took about a dozen big trees out. We were lucky and blessed that we did not have any more damage.

Wow, g, hate to hear that. Thank God no one was hurt and there was not any more damage. Its been a rough 24 hours for sure. You all will be in our prayers, holler if you need anything.

I hate to hear that "G" but I'm glad your alright and no body was hurt.

I hate to hear the bad news. I lucked out, we had tornados go a few miles north and south of us. Glad you didn't have more damage and mostly that y'all are okay.

Sorry for your loses David. Like Scott said we had tornados go to the north and south of us, just like the last bunch that came thru. Of course a lot of prayers went up from our home, the Lord has blessed us.

Yes SteveJ we were also blessed as well as G and them. We had a bunch of trees down and a lot of power lines down. Smithville about 25 miles Southeast of us lost half the comminuty. Lost some lives I think. Chickasaw county 30 miles south of us had it bad also. Baldwin Ms. also had it bad. We were deffinetly BLESSED.

Glad to hear ya'll are all ok....i was in Potts Camp at that time and that storm went to the south of us and it looked bad......as we where going up there the sirens where going off in Oxford.

So glad ''G'' that yall are safe, if I can be any help I'd be glad to.

glad to hear everybody is ok G!!! We had another one hit about 1/2 mile from my house, the last outbreak I had on about 300 yards from my house. I am almost beginning to feel like there is a target on my roof or something.

Scott and Steve and all you Meridian type folks I'm glad ya'll faired well also. I talked to the in-laws yesterday and they were hunkered down tight when those 2 were coming into Meridian.

My personal opinion is we need to be praying everyday and not just on special events or requests. Those may need and extra prayer, but fellows, I'm saying pray for everything!

Glad you are ok G. I was watching the news last night and saw where Smithville got hit. I have an aunt and uncle there soe I called and checked on them. He said their house is ok except for a tree through the patio but the town is tore up. Prayers for everyone in the wake of these tornado's.

Glad you got by with minimul damage G. If only everybody was that lucky.:o Prayers sent to all the victims.

I agree with the prayers and we do pray each and every day, just sent up more in times of trouble, makes us feel better about what ever is the problem.

Thanks guys. Got one new pole put in and have power back on the house. Have to get a electrician to come put new service wireing etc. on my shop and then the power co. will come and put the other pole up and hook it up. Yep......The Lord was looking out for me on this one as a lot of other folks didn't make out as well as I did. Lots of houses damaged and over south east of us at Smithville over half the town was destroyed and some lives lost. I have a lot to be thankful for.

This has been a Spring for the record books. Glad it wasn't any worse for ya G.

That must have been the one that blew up from the Enid area and ran south of Oxford. I watched it on tv. Glad you are ok, property can be replaced. My home town is Oxford.

Dang G! Glad to hear no one was hurt. Stuff can be replaced but people can't.

Yep....I lucked out.....some of my neighbors did not....they did not get hurt but had a lot of damage....one house was completely destroyed........the thing actually cut through two corners of my property.....so it was way too close. It barely missed my Daughters house as well.

Glad no one was hurt, things can be fixed or replaced.

Got to tell the truth here.....the first thing I looked at when I came out of my storm shelter was to see how the boat was.....a man has to have prioritys , lol
