i use roundup. my string never runs out.
Is it square line?
+1 on the roundup.
Actually, it does run out. Weeds are starting to build up a resistance to roundup and other surfactants. The big chemical companies are looking for something to replace it, before weeds build a complete resistance to it.
Having the same problem with pour-on Ivomec to worm cattle. They say it won't be long before it's obsolete too.
Anything beats hoeing and pulling! I'll try that in my weedeater next time I run out.
i'm not worried about that since i don't have pigweed or any of the weeds/grasses that have built up a resistance to roundup and i imagine it will be years and years before that happens here. if it does then i'll go to hyvar. it works good for more than a year or two. and i've not read where anything has built up a resistance to a surfactant. i just use ordinary dish soap as my surfactant and the generic roundup. i do have to make two applications a growing season.
Is it true that 2-4-D is agent orange?
i don't know peterc. i know that 2-4-5-t was more of a brush/tree killer and that may have been part of the "mix" if there was one for agent orange. the powers that be took that off the market like they do most good chemicals that work and are cheap.
I'm a big fan of preemergents and Paraquat!
we've used paraquat on milo to dry the leaves before cutting it. it will flat do a burn on them.
