Juiced up Baits!
Ya left off the Slabsauce and Crappie nibbles so I can't vote!
The slab buster jigs have strong garlic smell to them...

My favorite scent for slabs are a light seasoned batter, hot cooking oil and a bunch of Miller Lite. :P
im an old handtyer myself so i use verry few soft plastics myself i tie a shad collerd jig on a 1/32 oz head and o lil longer tail than normal and seem to catch more slabs than the average joe
I use frash garlic and sea salt, I put my plastics in a zip lock bag with the mix and let it set over night or longer. It works well with large mouths too.
Now I don't do all my jigs and such that way because some times they want nothing to do with it but on those days they do all heck brakes lose.

Attachment 60423I like the slab sauce and the liquid minnow pretty good. I also like the juiced up baits too. I have tried the berkley scent and did not like it at all. I have also found this garlic spread stuff from walmart. Its kinda a buttery mix of stuff. I like to push it up in the tubes with a syringe. It stays in the tube for a good while. Its kinda like other stuff they either want it or not.Here is a pic of what i am talkin about.

WD-40 is NOT a fish attractant ... it's a water displacement/solvent !! Not something we want to be added to our waters.Quote:

WD-40 is a petroleum based product and kills fish. If you don't believe me Spray a little bit into your minnow bucket and see what happens. We have to be careful to protect out waters we fish since so many do not. Someone on a thread stated that Wd-40 is made from fish oil which is NOT true. That doesn't even make sense. And plus Wd-40 is more expensive as most fish attractants especially if you make your own so using Wd-40 isn't only a terrible thing to do to your beloved fishing hole but it also doesn't make financial sense. lol
Ya'll are serious about Garlic? NEVER woulda thought about using garlic. I use Nibbles and a bait pump. WHat about mixing abit of garlic paste in with the nibbles? Think that'd work?

I fish the Lake Fork Tackle Baby Shad quite a bit so garlic is my favorite by default but I use Pro Cure Threadfin on hand ties and unscented plastics.
Sparkle crappie nibbles-or the liquid Powerbait concentrate, it's the same stuff.
I tip all my jigs (trolling, casting, vertical jigging, etc) with a sliver of fish (the leftovers from yesterday's fish cleaning). I figure nothing smells and tastes more like fish, than fish.
The crappie seem to like it. Unfortunately so do the northern pike.
I've got a jar of Crappie Nibbles in my tackle box in case I forget to bring my bait bag of slivers. It works pretty well too.
