Gary .... I don't personally use Beetle Spins, but I do have the grubs & components to DIY one, in the event I think that type of bait would work better, under the conditions I'm faced with or if I need to really slow down my presentation.
Now ... that being said - I do use other baits, where a split tail grub, like the traditional Beetle Spin grub, does fit the bill. I would also use those style grubs on a jighead. Charley Brewer's Whirly Bee comes to mind, as well. The Whirly Bee has a 2" grub on a 1/8oz head. There's a Lil Whirly Bee, in the 1/16oz size, that uses a 1.5" grub. I can see having both of those sized grubs, and using them on other "heads" as well as the Whirly Bees.
So, no .... Beetle Spins & their style grubs are not mainly for kids. They're for kids of all ages, who like to fish with a time proven style of bait/plastic body.

I use them alot as I make my own. Now if you're using a lot of the bodies and you already have all the materials to make them and just need the molds that's a consideration you have to make. I had a guy on another board make me some in colors I wanted and they were from the old model molds with one flat side. But they work.
I'm assuming that these new molds are full rounds??? With all kinds of requests I've seen for them around this board others you might even break even selling some and they'll pay for themselves, but this is only if you want to go that way. You'd get asked for alot of the old original colors as well as others.

Thats all I use for bream..
snake had him make those molds because he was getting requests for them. The molds are rounded and look very good. You can more easily do two colors with them. I only use them for bream and those molds are a little bigger than the ones I use for bream. Snake has those molds but he currently is not making any baits right now due to family issues.
does anybody know if they still sell the beetle spins on the market.
yes snake, they do sell them
I think they probably sell more of the smaller version though than the larger version. This because it is an extremely affective bait for the gills. They even sell one that is a nub tail and not a split tail. They are a good bait for gills here in Bama.
White perch, Yellow perch, bass, catfish, gills, gar, crappie, flounder, puppy drum, black drum, croaker, and bowfin.... I've caught em all on a beetle spin. I used to use a couple of the standard colors but have recently started buying the components in bult to save money. Plus I found a couple of color combinations they don't offer in other brand grub bodies to use. It's a great bait, and when the late spring rolls around here in NE NC you're hard pressed to find em. People buy em by the card full. TR
when we get things up and going. We will definitely have them available also. We are going to try to make some marble bodies I think would be awesome in these little guys. They will come two different ways color wise. These will be a laminated bodies half-and-half or you couldn't have a different head color. Hang in there guys. We will get things are going. Eventually.
You can buy those bodies in bulk from Barlows plus they also have all the other components in bulk also.
boy I am behind on my post completely I have the molds but they are the bigger sizes inch and a half and 2 inch we will have to get my trustee mold maker to make me a 1 inch I think this would be perfect for what you guys are fishing for bluegills why do you think these are so productive for bluegills and why hasn't anyone use the smaller size roadrunners for this purpose just curiosity killing the cat, but they are some good spam jig, combinations out there. You don't tickly To have either one that I just mentioned they sure are able to buy the wire made up already and add your own jig or bait to it is we bought a bunch for making up different stuff. Will try to post some commendations for you to look at in the future. There are so many different types of tackle to use with a spinner. Your mind can run wild at what you can do I think that is part of the and a manufacturer of small baits is you get to tinker a lot. I shouldn't say manufacturer I should say a hobbyist I don't consider myself is a big boy about a small boy. The only thing that I have over the bigger guys is that we get to play a lot you might say what I'm doing is similar to these guys that fly model airplanes are just a expensive and even they get carried away with their hobby like I've done. We thought about getting into that. Also is I enjoy motorized toys no, I'm not going to put little lights in my tackle or motors to make my jigs run around in the water.Rofl
I didn't know that they had them you were up bright and early this morning, or maybe it's later there it is. 7:28 AM here and we are going through lightning storms so we are having fun and definitely heavy rain like the monsoons. We have flash flood warnings in effect, they are no fun.
