Today is day 1 of 4 days (hopefully) where the CPA firm goes through MY "books" with a fine-toothed comb. Ya'll be thinking of me!!! Thumbs Up

It seems that last year was a bit hectic in the lives of my immediate family... two nursing home transfers for one parent; one hospice admission and the "passing" of one parent; one nursing home admit for other parent; six trips to the ER room with surviving parent prior to nursing home admission; one breakin; let's see.... I might have been a bit pre-occupied for lets say TEN MONTHS OF 2010!

Ask the auditor ifn they know Wb or ES. Ifn they do, jus turn in yo resignation. They'll Gewber it up.

It's the same person that's come here the last three years..... just that then my mind was on my bidness....... last year it was NOT. Perhaps I should just turn in my resignation before she arrives? :(

Pick and account that you know is right and act all defensive and nervous when they ask about it....they'll spend all their time going through that one account looking to bust you and use up all their audit hour budget fooling with it, then their manager will call 'em and tell 'em they're over budget and to get back to the office and close it out so the firm can bill for it or they'll get canned.

They have four or five days to use as she wishes...... she stays till almost 7 p.m. the first three days and tries to get out early on Thursday. I have a feeling she may be staying till Friday!!!! There's no budget for her to stay within, Wannabe..... I'm SKUH-ROOED on that idea.

There is no next in line to this position. Me, myself and I are the only ones, Sat. :(

Wannabe.. I may not know much, but THIS I do know. We pay 'em to come here and rip me apart. It is not for a certain amount of time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( The FIRM may have them on a time frame, but we do not. What she doesn't get done while she's here..... she's gonna badger me for over the next week. It's a lose lose for me. :(

To a point, I'm funnin' ya. But joe auditor has a budget and joe owner ain't done told 'em "blank check". 1/2 the gig is to do things to make you nervous. Been on all three sides. Neither is fun.

Like last year, I'd dispence with the "honey", "sweetie", language. She's probably really irritated she wasn't born "packin", so to speak, and loves takin it out on someone who can't honestly fight back. I remember this conversation from last year, and everything turned out ok then, I assume. Just "thank" her for being there and "helping" you make sure you have things in order, cause "you know how some things can slip thru the cracks", and that the only way everything can be "perfect" is if you don't do anything at work, and how you "know your world isn't perfect" either.....then go get her a cup of joe laced with hemlock. It'll all be over quicker that way.

WB, hate to say this, but you're a genious.....only because I've done the same thing. When the NASD comes in for an unannounced audit, I act as though I'm really nervous about a 3-4 files, and draw their attention to trying to find something wrong with what I KNOW is right. Really messes with their mind, and I LOVE it. Most of these children who come in for the audit are 2-3 years out of school and I've been in the business 28 years. Old dog young dog. Well, you get the pic.

I did my audit prep a bit differently than past years and it wound up being a much better way to do it so I learned something for the next go round. Thumbs Up
