On a routine fishing trip with your partner, do you unhook your boat at the top of the ramp?
These results may help, or hurt, my gewberish status.
I always unhook at the top. Though I might reconsider.
Never......always at the edge of the water....ive heard of several incidents like yours. And regardless of the grade of the ramp, I never unhook at the top.
Never ever would I unhook my new boat, that I have no idea of how it's gonna react on the trailer. Specially ifn the ramp is steep or very long. Nope, jus wouldn't do it the first time.
And either way this thread goes you still http://tapa.tk/mu/41005d28-0630-4c1c.jpg
Not with this new boat. I tried the first time and could tell it wouldn't take much for it to slide off.
I used to unhook it, but not any more.......
Nope and the reason why is because about 6 yrs ago the same thing that happened to you happened to me at Tunica and yes it was a new boat. No major damage though.
I let a foot or so slack in the the winch, but I don't unhook it til the trailer tires touch water...with just me or 1/2 dozen people.
I drive the truck......HE unhooks the boat and rides down the ramp unhooked. Carpeted bunks. Always hook it up after loading up to leave.
uhhhh......NO!
Its according if the ramp is steep or not. I have those plastic patches on my bunk boards and are pretty slick.
50/50!!!!!!! Where were all you smart people last saturday? I've never heard or seen this before until it happened to me.
This could be the closet poll eva
I'd bet a dollar to a donut that your boat has had the bunks "greased" with silicon due to launching into freezing water and that's why you had the trouble. I'd bet a dozen dollars to a a donut that you're gewber.
Wannabe...
Why would you unhook it at the top of the ramp?!!
I've never had a problem unhooking before, luckily. I think I'll start waiting till I get to the water from now on. I hate to learn a lesson the hard way. Thanks ES.
Always at the edge of the water, it is just not worth the risk!
I've heard of it happening to folks with roller trailers or those silicone strips on the bunks but never a carpeted bunk....... you must be EXTRA speshul..... or that GIRLY truck caused it!!!!!!
I always unhook my boat at the top of the ramp... but the ramps here on the rez are not steep at all...
I USED to unhook but thanks to ES I will no longer do so!!!!!
Water's edge.............better safe than sorry. Take a whole 30 seconds more.

I think some of yall are fudgin your answers to make me look more gewberish. Tell the truth now
Thanks to you and W B I will never unhook at top of ramp again and have new License and Registration.
No fudgin here. Thats just common sense!
I've always unhooked my boat from the trailer and have it ready to put in the water before backing down.
never my boat is so eager to go it will jump off to go fishing
The reason I do it so no one has to wait on me to get out of the way. I detest the sob's that back down to the water and then get out of their truck and start getting their boat ready for fishing. I have seen folks sit in line below the spillway for 1 1/2 hours and then when it is teir turn to launch their boat, they begin loading everything except the sink.
D&+n auto correct no I am not starting to turn in to don it just this iPhone !!! And he has been doing it that way for 50 years not 5
Never. My boat floats before I unhook it.
Really surprised to see how many people unhook at the top of the ramp.
Wannabe...
Yepper, sure do. Everything else is ready also. When my boat dunks it's off the very second it hits the water. Got it all ready back at the pre-ramp area as I watch others drive by me and get in line and then take 10 minutes to get it in at the ramp.
Don't like to wait for anyone at the ramp (yea like that's gonna happen) and don't like anyone having to wait on me.
need a "not anymore" option in the poll.
I axchually unhook mine in the pre-ramp area, but I didn't do it on the first trip. Mine will unload and pull up the ramp without being hooked. So I didn't fudge on my initial answer.
But with that being said, you a Gewber and something like this was bound to happen. Prolly no way to prevent you bein a Gewber.
Wannabe is a gewber.......ES is a ......Dufus and both of them are JADA
