I don't know about residents but someone on the board (from TN) posted about a year ago they got a $500 & sumpin' fine. I think it was a similar situation as yours, he and his wife fishing and one license was expired.
Its alot more than ya woulda paid to renew em!

You should have went down to the Justice Court in person.....this happened to a friend at thats what he did....he went in person and the Court Clerk asked him had he bought a new license after getting the ticket....he said yes, she said let me see it, he showed it to her and she said OK, and tore the ticket up.
