Has anyone mounted a Terrova onto a Trition TR-186 or a simmilar type boat? It looks to me that there would not be a lot of surface area to hold the motor mount.

I have mounted a Terrova 80 on a Triton TR-176 and have used it for almost a year. There was only room for four of the mounting bolts and the left front bolt is very close to the tip of the bow. I had no problem taking in all bolts with a ratchet from underneath the deck.

Thanks Fermo thats what I needed to know. Is it difficult to stow the motor? From the looks of it you are close to the edge when you raise the motor up.....and my luck I'll fall in:eek:...again!
Agian !! LOL........ They have to hang over to atleast the bottom of the "U" or it will not deploy properly, I always pull up to the dock on the opp side so it wont get hung on it.
BTW: Where is Belgreen AL ?
I have one on a TA196, and haven't had any problems.
Belgreen is in the northwest corner of Alabama south of Muscle Shoals. And the fall in part was when the seat base broke of my flat bottom! That will draw your attention pretty quick!
Rockmike can you post some pictures. I've about got the thing bought if I can mount it!
Wantabe I hope to be that way on Friday sometime.
I plan on being on the water Friday, but here's a pic of how mine ended up. Holding on good so far, done ramed the boat dock and a few trees Doh

I guess my big question is what do you hold on to to raise the motor? Do you grab the top of the motor and just pull? Its quite possible I'm just not smart enough for one of these things!!:o
I have the terrova 80 w 60 in shaft. I press down the lock lever with my left foot & push the motor with my right foot while holding the head with my left hand. Flips right up & slides down to the coller. When bringing it up I grab the head & step on the lock & lay it horizonal & just slide it back till it locks. It really is easy once you do it a couple times.
So after looking at the pics I realize that my front seat is much closer to the bow than these. That would make it easyr to put up & down.
The Terrova is a lot easier than the PD V2
I feel it deploys fairly easily. I usually kneel down next to the foot control, the press the lever in the back of the unit and gently push the motor/prop forward. The two wide brackets under the motor keep it from falling too fast. When it's time to stow I kneel in the same position, depressed the lever and pull up on the shaft until it seats back in the wide brackets. You don't have to turn the motor off. It automatically shuts off when stowed the entire way. I've never used a cable steer TM so maybe I haven't experienced an easier system to deploy/stow.
The latch mechanism is just hard to work and release on the PD....On the Terrova it takes no effort at all. At least that was the case when I tried a friends PD out.
heres a link, can take pics if u need them

bottom of shaft ,look where it locks into place and u will see it,can get pics but it might be a few days
heres a couple pics,my finger is on the collar u loosen and then u can turn collar and adjust for easier deployment
You can always drill a couple more holes in the tm plate to feel more comfortable having 6 bolts holding it. I did.;):)
I have a Charger 195 TF bass boat and I have the same issue here. I have four screws holding it in and it hangs way off the boat. I have to be very careful pulling up to the dock so it doesn't get hung up either. When I installed mine the guy at the Bass Pro Shop said to me to get the rubber anchors that look like T's to mount it. You drill a 1/2 inch hole in the boat, you put the anchors in then you line the holes up with the anchors and screw them in. This is a great plan but the anchors were horrible at best. I had my terrova 80 on 10 and I bumped the on/off switch on the foot control while my motor was pointed to the left and I though my motor was going in the water. It ripped 2 of the anchors in half and I had to replace them. I will be using the screws and the bolts that came with the kit while re-install my trolling motor. I am just throwing this out there so that if any one is using those anchors they know to be carefull with them.
Also I have found this motor to be a pain to deploy and stow because I have to reach out there so far. I wonder if a line or small rope with a small handle like on a normal traolling motor would work if you tied it under the head unit? Any suggestions?
Those are standard Motor Guide mounts. Worked good for me on my Terrova i-pilot.Quote:

That's the truth for me. Is it okay to lubricate the composite shaft? If so, with what? Thanks.Quote:
