First Crappie this year.

These are first crappie I cought this year. Been fishing last few weeks and heres the pics.
Not monsters but made a good meal out of them tonight, Fried and served with Fried Tatters.

Cought these using a Crazy Angler 1/48oz Minnow head I tied up. Similar to these I sold a few weeks ago, but I used black flash.

Got these guys with a 1/80oz ballhead Mallard Flank Jig in June-Bug fished under a float and tipped with Crappie Nibbles and C.C Liquid Minnow.

nice looking black crappie you got them on the jig in the picture that tail looks like nylon and Crystal flash.

Yes and No, Kiptail and Krystal flash.

hmmmm those heads look fimiliar. He just got a fresh batch of 2000 of those from me about 3 days ago...

You pour the 1/24oz minnow Jigheads for Crazy Angler Tackle? If so then I'll holler at you later this week about maybe getting some with regular hook instead of them stupid sickle hooks.

I poured some for him. Myself I dont have the mold.

Congrats on your catch and it's always good to get the first ones done, then you can relax a little more and maybe catch more. Just got my first ones about 2 weeks back and then more last weekend. Now got plenty new ones and still some for the last 2 years in the freezer. Got to start giving some away soon.

Thanks everyone, Hopping tomorrow to load up on them too. Going to a state lake that is over stocked with black crappie in the 5 to 8inch range. The Park rangers are asking fishermen to "Harvest this over abundant resource" this year.

Soooo I'll have to try some of the RonDon Jigheads I ordered from him. Tying up jigs on them tonight for tomorrow.

Anywho I'll let yall know how good/bad I do.

awesome!glad you got a hold of some crappies!my first this year was 2 weeks ago.i just put em all back even tho i did get about 4 nice big ones.i figure,let em spawn for now,and then i will get at them later after trout season opens and that lake is open to fishing starts.

Well the report isn't good. All we cought was small bass and a Tiny gill. Used everything in our boxes and then some. But everybody we talked to said the same thing sooo. We had a cold front come threw last week and I'm thinking that set the Crappie back.

But a bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work.
