ok Ima gonna use dis board for a waaaaaaaay off topic that maybe

some of you can help me with. I am wanting to surprise my wife with a new miniture dachsund puppy (black & tan preferred) and want to be able to find one that I can drive, view and pick up on my off day (wednesday's) and get back home and surprise her. we had a dachsund that I had to have put down last year (he had been part of the family for 15 yrs) and then my son got married and moved into his new house and she has pretty much been miserable (thus I have been miserable) since and I just think she needs something that she can nurture. seriously, any help greatly appreciated, you can pm me or email me but it would be a big help if anyone knows of this. I want a very young pup, weeks old not months

Why not just send her on a guided fishing trip with me instead? It'd be cheaper, I ain't got no fleas and I promise not to p in the floor.

Miniature dachshunds

I got my Dachsund from Tn. River Rescue in Savannah, Tn. You must be very careful getting any dog from a rescue place, because alot of rescue dog's will have some kind of health issue's a little bit down the road.
Have the dog checked very good by your Vet. We got lucky with ours, she's healthy and smart, and the love of our life. I can't image life without her, she's family.

I have a mini long haired black and tan.. Best natured dog I have ever had... I highly recomend them to people....

Here's my $.02. Call your veterinarian that you used for your past pets (or someone else's vet that comes highly recommended) and ask him/her if there are any breeders he/she could recommend. They often will know about the person who just raises one litter of puppies every year or so. I've gotten really good recommendations from my vet when searching for a specific breed. They can also steer you away from folks who may often have puppies that have lots of problems as they mature. Just a thought. Those mini-doxies are precious and loyal to their masters. Great choice and good luck on your search! :)

When u find a litter check it out first even by phone then instead of just u going take her on a surprise drive & let her pick out the one of her choosing. If like most once she sees them pups well you will surely be bringing one home. Bet it would mean more to her to be able to pick one out herself. Just saying..........

CN, I did ask her and she said she had been out of it for about 5 yrs and she didnt know anyone right off hand. 80 miles from Memphis, 70 Miles from Tupelo MS, 70 miles from Florence AL. would like a black and tan female, never had a long hair but I think that I would take one. I appreciate your help CN

I know somebody that raises them! But they are about a hour from Nashville Tn. But they come to Memphis pretty regular Mr. Cope comes down there to Shea Clinic to a hearing doctor. They are 2 of the nices people you will ever meet they have a kennel here and they doggie sit also and they take care of my dog for me when we are out of town, they have been now for about 5 years or so. They have a website if you would like to look at it. index
