need pics to see what you have to work with.
I have had trouble getting pics on here but here goes, its a 12ft sylvan super snapper

Thanks
Pictures would definitly help - I use a MinnKota foot control with a quick release mount. The mount only requires about 12 inches of flat space. Like this:

I mounted it on the front of the boat where I have maybe a 18 inches to work with. Put at an angle that was pleanty of room.
I have a plain old 55# min kota tm its not one of the new flip up type thats why I am looking at an alternate way to mount it so it is more to the front of the boat and not hanging off the side of the boat. I guess I will have to weld something up out of channel and mount a plate so it can be swung to the side when loaded on the trailer
Thanks,
you might do a web search for trolling motor mount. I saw a few for <$30 that would work.
But if you can weld, then go to town! You get exactly what you want and I'm certain it will be 10x as strong as anything you could get prefab.
Here's mine close

Like I said I dont own that type of tm and dont plan to buy one anytime soon, I need plans to build one for an old fashion basic tm to mount on the front of a plan old fashion v-haul boat like in my picture.
Thanks, Stan
Well what ever, but mine is as much of a V as yours here's the old TM it will work you just got to be open minded here!

Fisherman Wannabe this is what I have; I want to put this Attachment 58323
On the front of this

Does this make since ? Is the mount on the front of you boat made to accept this Attachment 58323 ?
That is what I am trying to get at If yours does can you tell me who makes it or where I can get one ?
Thanks
I had a similar situation years ago. I solved it by bolting a "L" shape bracket to the boat where I wanted the TM. I attached a piece of 2 X 4 to the upright part to attach the TM. It worked great.
build you a l shape bracket. on the up side where the motor goes mount a 2x4 or 2x6 besure and make the up side the same width as the wood. mount the bracket to the side of the boat rail at front you may want to sit in the seat and figure out where you want it. i would use a peice of 1/4 inch plate metal the same width as the mount on the trolling motor. just besure and make it long enough to get about 4 or 5 bolts a couple inches apart thriugh the rail. hope this helps. sorry don't know how to post a diagram.
Cabellas sell a bracket for you boat that will mount a hand control motor on the very front.
http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/pub...82vGkAIWe8=s90 You can try this method with some angle iron and save yourself some cash...
Or BassPro has this mount, but it has bad reviews...
Bass Pro Shops Universal Trolling Motor Bracket
Cabelas has this for $75ish, but no reviews yet :(

A while back I saw a conversion kit to convert a transom mount motor to a foot control unit. It looked cool, but cost over $200 - sorry I couldn't find a link.
Good luck!

Well I think the problem is solved Hands ClappingThumbs Up
Wasilvers I looked at the Bass pro one just wish it had better reviews, the second wont work on my boat. I was thinking I might build my own along the lines of the Bass pro model but mount it on a swivel base so it could be adjusted side to side to. Thanks for the suggestions guys,
Stan
Fisherman Wannabe I knew we could get it figured out, I just could figure out how to explain it better ! Must be the pain meds LOL!!!!
