You know us arkansans we walk around barefoot and ain't got much to say. But when we do speak you'd better listen cause it's normally important :)
They are looking for others honey holes and keeping theirs to them sefts,if they do post a picture they give wrong lakes to which they came.Don't believe them when they do post.....
I figured I needed to go fishin to have anything much to say. At the rate things have been going lately, it may be May before I get on the water.
The "viewers" will alot of times be anglers that are searching "honey holes" on the tournament lakes coming up as well!
I usually don't know enough to comment. If I don't ask specific question, I'm just reading to learn
I like to post pictures. I dont get to fish a lot but when I do and I am lucky enough to catch a few, You guys are the first to know. To the above poster, I have posted and PM with you guys many times and you have always gave me info about your central ark lakes and I thank you. These guys that are not members need to join and give out a little info. We cant catch them all is how I feel about it.
rieve,
Do you mean Arkansas forum members or C.C members? There are several state forums that I lread each time I log on, Arkansas is one of them. I was born there, used to live there, and used to fish there. Just don't live there right now?
usually arkansas forum has more viewers than just about any other state but there is very little activity
I live here and was born here, but drive to Stockton Lake in Mo.to fish. Have fished at Atkins,Conway,Bull Shoals,Lake Darn.Like to try others sometime if i knew for sure how to get there.
I live in Louisiana so I normally post on the LA board, although I live very close to the Arkansas line. Since I live close to AR sometimes I look on the board to see waht is going on. One reason I don't post much on AR board is that yall seem to be more close-mouthed than folks in LA. People here will tell you where they caught them, what color, what depth, almost everything a man needs to know to be able to go catch a mess of fish. I, personally, don't see that on AR board.
For instance, the other night I noticed that someone had caught a nice mess. So I posted that since I had an out-of-state license, I might give the lake a try if it wasn't too far from home. By the time I got through reading "where" the lake was "supposed" to be located I was so confused that I didn't know if it was even in Arkansas or not. I couldn't tell who was telling the truth and who wasn't. And I didn't ask for GPS coordinates, just where the lake was located.
Maybe that is why the number of posts are not there for Arkansas.
What I tell you....don't believe us.
Hadn't you seen were we even fight for the right to fish our honey holes, even kill our trash fish when caught. We wear our caps bills turned up and tell you yeah we sportman too even tho a beer can floats nearby.
Laying jokes aside they are alot on here that is every turthfull and will move over for you to fish their honey hole.
I don't see where the non posters are hurting anyone by reading and not posting if they have nothing to contribute. To each his own.
I just wish more people would post so I would have a reason to spend even more time on here. Reading fishing stories from other states if alright, but it's more fun if you're reading posts from here, especially if there's pictures. Arkansas crappie IMO are some of the prettiest out there.
This thread has already had 540 views and only 16 posts
well i try to post but do get on and read alot. i have not been fishing to do work so have not had much to say. I have and will always try to help people enjoy the sport and challange of crappie fishng. I have learned a lot from the good folks on this board. If you are down my way if i can help i will
I agree-Hence my screen name. I don't get to fish as much as I would like-Life and work get in the way, So I have nothing to brag about. But I like to stay informed so when the chance comes I have an idea whats going on where. Please don't worry about ME catching all your fish out of all your honey holes or stumbling across one of your brushpiles or stakebeds and putting the waypoints in the GPS on your home lake that I didn't help build, because chances are I wont be there but once in a blue moon.
rieve? chill out dude! alot of us just come in from fishing or working and want to see and/or hear whats going on with others "AND" not sign in! If you are not comfortable with that then you need to go some place else! We are a family here! We dont care about that kinda stuff!
I like to read and learn. I dont catch many fish, my wife can tell you that..........
I ask alot of questions and learn as much as I can, and dont always post, but I am always signed in.
I have yet to find a honey hole, but everyone knows that just because "they were there" today, "they may not be" tomorrow.
Tom
post. Now, quit your whinning.
Go ahead and complain, some familys will listen and learn.
Alot of the viewers are from other states.
I went fishing today.
some people are talkers some are listners i log on daily but dont post real often not searching for honey holes i find my own crappie just like to read whats going on in other places versus where i fish
I viewed this post.
I also look at post for lakes I don't fish, probably never will. And sometimes I go fishing and not tell anybody. I like this sight because when I'm not fishing, I'm usually thinking about it. Helps me get through to the next day off of work so I can get back out there.
i probably fish over150 days a year in ar. and ms. i know some great lakes some not so great lakes and some in the middle if i can help any one catch some crappie i will be glad to help any way i can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here Meat! I usually wind up giving jigs away on the water just to help the folks out that "ain't got the right color". I gave away both jigs and nibbles to an angler and helped some with his technique this past weekend while on a lake and it really made my day when he started catching fish. I hate to watch someone really trying and not having any luck. Catching fish and having fun is the name of the game. I put a lot of folks on fish.....you never know when they will have to return the favor.
I caught a brand new Zebco 33 rod and reel with price tag still on it out of one of my honey holes last week. The front section of the two part rod was missing, looks like the line broke right at the hole on a spincast.Sure wish I knew what happen for it to be lost in that spot and what type lure they was useing. That honey hole could be producing some big bonefins or drum this time of year.
I have people think me year after year for a tip I had given them in days pasted, problem is I cann't remeber some of the people as giving them anything.
Give a tip tuesday to a guy that will remeber me forever,It wasn't lures or honey holes.
I was watching him cast as he was coming my way before he got to me I laid my rod down and picked up a can of reel magic. As we set and talked about fishing I pitched the can to him and said spray your line with that.He said what wd40 I said no read the can, reel magic humm.I say it doesn't take much but soak your line this time and keep the can,I have another one at home.He didn't want to keep it but it was only 1/4 of can,he wanted to know if I needed anything in his tackle,,,no don't need nothing.
After several hours of fishing I was loading my boat and he was coming to the ramp,so I waited to see how many he had.How many did you catch,,I didn't catch that many b/c I kept getting hung up in the brush. That stuff you give me missed up my casting,,,,what you mean missed up your casting,,,,it would cast to far, what stuff even made my line coils limber up and made my line longer.lol
Anyway I see no differents in telling somebody where and when b/c most have bells and whistles to find your honey holes. Some are rude some have knowledge and there is more talk on the street as to where and when as this board.
I do a bit of "lurking" on here to try to learn. While I was growing up my dad didn't fish or hunt, so I missed out on a lot. I don't usually do any good fishing and like to hear of others that do well. I don't judge a good day of fishing or hunting by whether you harvest anything, it's a good day just to be able to get out. I have really found that out more the last few years after I became disabled and can't get around like I used to. If you're in good health just be glad you can still get out and around. Besides that, what if someone does get into your honey hole? I don't figure they're going to catch all of the fish out of it.
Maybe I'm silently looking at the Arkansas board because:
I live in Louisiana.
I vacation and spend money in Arkansas.
I have had an Arkansas Non-Resident license with trout stamp, for most of the past 30 years.
I have clients in Arkansas, that really like to have conversations about fishing in Arkansas.
I have family in Arkansas that love to fish, but don't go on-line because of their age, that wonder if the fish are biting.
I business travel in Arkansas 2 to 3 times a month, and like to have known that when I pass a place to fish, I might have seen a picture of the lake or river and an example of the type of fish that it produces.
The Arkansas board has provided me with knowledge and pleasure. This thread is not one of those experiences. I have no respect for stirrers of stink. I really need to go back to being silent now.
Hey Boatstall,
This thread is the exception and is not representative of the many, many fine folks in Arkansas and elsewhere who frequent this board, sometimes posting and sometimes not. Personally, I don't like the thread and the ill will it has generated, and regret it ever started. I have been on this board for a couple of years now and every now and then one of these negative type threads gets started. You keep on coming back, posting or not. Fortunately there is no limit on how many people can view this forum, and there is not and never will be a requirement that you have to post to browse. Just come on and enjoy!
You tell em ski trip who cares if people did not want there honey holes found maybe they do not need to (brag) post them on here This is supose to help each other better each other as fisherman and sportsmen . Please do not take offence to this thread
Bad thread I post here and La. forum live on state line and fish both states post pretty often take few pictures because of problems with technology I am old school watch people fish my spots and tops every day do not get to upset good fishermen find the good spots thats the way it is and should be enough talk I will be fishing tomorrow on Lake Erling war eagle boat white and black dog if you see me say hello.
Noslab.
I went 3-25-11 on luck. I may be fishing in the wrong place or it may have been to soon. so much water so little time. I talk to 3 other fishermen , one had 0, one gay had 1 , two gays had 3. I all ways hear that they are biteing, but ther are going to be some people did not catch nothing, that you dont hear.
