Hey everyone been "ghosting around" a while and finally decided to join. I'm 19 and try to fish as much as I can!:D Got a non-crappie question here...does anyone catch any white bass below the david terry dam if so around what time of year? Are there any other spots I should be checking for them?
Welcome to the board! It doesn't seem that long ago that I was your age and man I sure wish i had stuck to the crappie fishing instead of everything else I chased around. Sorry I can't help ya with a report on the whites.
Welcome Cr@ppieK1ng! I would expect you wont find tons of help here on the white bass unless you mean white paper mouths! Good luck and i hope you get some help! I know nothing about that or i would give all info i have! Welcome aboard..

Since you said that you fish around Terry dam, I'll assume that you live in central AR. If so, you should definitely check out the white bass run on the west end of Lake Maumelle, in the Maumelle River. Here is a map to the parking location. You can zoom out to see where it is, but basically west on Highway 10, a few miles past the lake.

They will start running up the river in the next 2-4 weeks. This is one of the best white bass runs in the state. Good luck.

Welcome from Conway. Don't know about the white bass but Shimmy Shamrock goes every year for the white bass run on Maumelle. You might want to pm him and see if he can give you some help.
Nothing at Murray behind the power plant as of yesterday. I checked it out the last couple days but it will soon. Been hoping to get some reports further south. I used to go all the way down to Pendalton park in south east AR and follow them up the river. Welcome from another new guy. Jon

Welcome to crappie land! You can go to dam 3 East of Grady and fish down river side of the dam and catch a bunch. Or as stated before, go to Dumas and fish the same area below dam 2. In my early years, we use to rip em. Tying two jigs on an ultra light rig and fill up a cooler. Might even throw in a crappie once in a while.
I heard whites are already heading up the river from maumell. buddy said last weekend there were some folks bank fishing just west of the hwy 10 bridge and catching them.He said the rvr channel was the only water west of the bridge and guys were out on the dried up flat fishing the channel. Not sure if that rain yesterday brought the lake up much but ya might want to check it out..said minnows were working...

The whites don't seem to run as good at the dam as they used to. But you really need some current to catch them. They usually start coming in right about now. You can catch them till early or mid April pretty good at times there and when you start going and all you seem to catch are drum its time to quit. Hope that helps, cause I grew up down that way and fished there hard at your age.

Well I didnt catch any white bass in maumelle these past couple days caught acouple nice largemouth...Went to terry lock and and caught some but just a few. There was some guy out there catching huge crappie right next to the wall I thought they were largemouth when he pulled them out the water!

Cr@ppiK1ng. I'm surprised you did not get them at Maumelle. My boss fished there yesterday and caught 20. Where'd you go and what did you throw?
Well I went last week havent been at all this week but anyway I used roadrunners white/char, minnows, small rat l traps, tubes and whatever else I could think of. I was underneath the hwy 10 bridge, I also walked back to the little river but figured it was to early for fish to be there so I just walked around.
Ok. You are on the right track then. We are guessing it should get pretty good in about a week. The flow from the rain we are getting helps cue them in to run further upstream. Good luck, and let me know how it goes.
