I use windex with vinegar and let it soak a bit. They'll come off. Just be sure to use a lint free cloth like microfiber or a "Fruity Looms" t-shirt.
I've read that dawn dishwashing detergent with warm water on a microfiber towel will work..
After removing the water spots..I would suggest getting a screen protector such as this one....

Stymie,
You must have been using an older link. There have been a lot of changes and updates to the FAQ section of the Humminbird web site this year so far.
Try this link:

The screenpatronus comes with a bottle of solution to spray the glass and the plastic with.....
Apply the solution LIBERALLY..then position the screenpatronus..and use the included squeegee to remove the solution and the bubbles from under the screenpatronus....
Pretty simple....
A lot of guys use the Zagg protector ($30)
Screenpatronus is like $12 if I remember correctly...
Thanks Rickie I think I will try one. They are 16.50 now
How do you know which one to buy?

Type in your unit brand and model number in the search box down to the left in the patronus ad...(i.e. humminbird 1197)

Thanks,it worked that time,I tried it before and it did'nt work, maybe I put in too much info before.
Well I see you already got a lot of answers to cleaning the screen. But it looks to me your asking how not to get them :) I like a little Rain-X after cleaning good with Windex, then just keep a small micro-fiber towel handy. I get more water on the bow FF than the console. Have been thinking about raising the bow up to keep some water off, and it's getting harder for my old eyes to see it down low ;)
Jusy my 2 cents :p
i was wondering if rainex was safe to use?
