I am ready
I probably won't have a chance against these hi powered people with tons of time and experience but....on any given day anyone can catch that state record crappie. There is a lot of skill and experience involved. But I'm betting on the luck portion!
BRING ON THE FISHING!!!

I received a question about whether the three fish submitted had to be submitted on the same date. And the answer is no. Take pictures over the course of the month of all your big catches, and submit the three biggest ones. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question.
What's the chance of creating a thread where folks can post "unofficial photos" without being judged; just to see what the competition is producing? It would be nice to see what size fish are being caught.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me when the tournament is over.

I am also curious if there could be a thread to show sample pictures, to know what type of competition there is. Or maybe someone can just tell us what some of the previous winners had (if there were previous tournaments like this)
Strahm, this is the first time to try this on the site. My local lake still has some ice, and is flooded, so fishing there right now, is almost next to impossible.
Yep, no previous information. This is our first tourney. But here are sample pictures of fish:

Also, remember, each fish picture should be separate. I've been getting some entries in with all three fish taken together in one photo and that is wrong.
first i have seen this, sounds cool! where are the pics enterted so far posted at?
They will all be sent to me, and I will publish them after the tournament. If I post them now, and there is a big batch, then no-one else will enter thinking they can't win. Also, I got like only one entry so far. I think everyone is waiting till the end date of the tourney.
Also, FYI. I'll still be out of town when the tournament ends. So don't expect immediate results. Right now I'm in Alabama fishing with the wonderful Shipahoy41. Story to come later.
thanks for the reply. good luck down there bud!
We only had 5 entries for the March Contest. There is no April contest. We'll have to discuss any further contests here.
All five entries for the March contest essentially do not qualify. The images are too small, the pictures are taken from wrong angles, there is no date, too few images, three fish on one image, it's all not really good. I will publish all those entries in a separate thread here today. They all will receive prizes anyway for their effort. And there are some really good fish pictures.
I really feel it's just too hard to judge, and too hard to manage this type of contest. It may be just me, but even going through these five entries is too time consuming with everything else I've got to do here. I can't imagine the effort to go through all the images if we had 20 entries. And it's not just that. There are emails to answer about the contest, and emails to send when something does not come through correctly, and user names to match. You also have to check closely so that an entry is not the same fish, entered twice. I just don't see how this can work with a lot of entries. Remember, I'm essentially a one man band here (excluding my mods, which I appreciate so dearly).
I really think simple photo contests are the way to go. You all post them here, and I have my family pick the best ones. That always worked out.
