Tie your feathers on, whip finish, then hold up different colors of chenille til you match one you like. Works for me. :)
brown and black.....I sell alot of either black or brown head with solid kelly green body and tail
I'd go for some limetreuse, fluoroescent light green, or chartreuse for body color .... and a dark green or Kelly green head. That would provide some good contrast.
I like PBUG's suggestions, too. Would make it look like a "critter/bug"

I would take Pbug advice. That is one of my goto combo for bream jigs. I haven't had much luck with it on crappie jigs but it is killer down here on bream ( bluegill ). My only difference is that I use a brown or black cheille body with a kelly green head.

I tie a jig with a chart head, black body and the green tail. We catch some good crappie here on those colors. Good luck with it.
I use just the green and tie with eather red or black thread, one of my favorite for gills.
chartreuse and orange but Bugs idea works really well too.
what i came up with is orange head chart body and kelly green tail
Mbug, try the pink and lets see what you got.
