Went and fished the Ohio river today. Water temp was 37 but that did not slow down the sauger bite. We caught our limit then started culling. We fished below Meldahl Dam using jigs tipped with minnows. Good practice for crappie later on.

Good looking fish, sure was a nice day.
One of these days I have got to try sauger fishing, I only live about 5 miles from Smithland dam.
Sounds great, glad you had a good trip.
Keep thinking I am going to learn to sauger fish , but I just never get around to it.
Those are some good ones.
Yesterday was combat fishing at its best, boats constantly almost running in to each other drift fishing. It lasted five or not even five minutes for me and I went elsewhere.
exactly where is the medahl dam located at? can yoy tell me i am from greenwood ind. thanks!!!
It's the dam just above Cincinnati. From the Ohio side you can put in at Neville or Foster on the Kentucky side. The dam is just above the ramps. Any dam on the Ohio have sauger. Hey ezgo what boat where you in. I might have seen you.
Great looking fish, congrats on the catch!
Great job. I am jealous.
Congrats on the Sauger. I am looking forward to getting into some fish myself.
