Nofish/divorce
Sunday started out to a good day b/c motored started, run, idled real good after the redo, was proud of it.
Run up river to one of my farorite starting points, let T.M. down got rod out put starting bait on,a crappie nib on and sprayed it with scent.Lined boat up for a perfect cast into that always no fell spot.I made my cast and was setting on pins and needles just knowing at any time thump fish on.Goes all the way to bottom hum no problem get him on the drag hop in.Made another prefect cast into that no fell spot again all the way to bottom, drag hop to boat no fish.Pick up another rod with different bait, puut crappie nib on,sprayed with different scent.Again made a prefect cast, bottom, hop hop drag hop drag to boat no fish.No worry after trying 5 rods with different stuff I'll catch them off my farorite point.Again line boat up for that perfect cast, again and again and again setting on pins and needles couldn't ask for better casting or good starting motor that sunday.Go to tree tops, logs and weeds no fish there either.Meet a few other fisherman that wasn't having any luck either BUT I really thought I was really good at catching them whether they wanted to bite or not.I was heartbroken, felt tho I was going though a divorce.I was to heartbroken when the motor wouldn't start to load the boat I T.M.'ed it on the trailer. To heartbroken to even pull the crank rope to start the motor.I was tore up and heartbroken to even think about fishing today.Had to order a new starter,be here wed.,any other time I'd be pulling that crank rope instead of waiting until it comes in.When he was taking the starter off he wanted to know how many fish I caught.I told him I didn't want to talk about it,after he ask several times I finally broke down and told him. When I said none he fell backwards as tho I was lying. He said I don't beleive that, none,I said Jessie thats not the bad part.I feel as tho I'm going though a divorce,I not only didn't catch nothing I didn't even get a bite not even a nibble. For the last 2 years I have not felled in catching a mess of fish whether it be freezen, boiling hot, lighting, storms, hail nothing stopped me from catching.I'm heartbroken, the water looked good, weather was good, seemed it would be a good day.Seen fish hitting on top in a few places so I know they where there, tried a few floating flys and bugs no takers tho.I think I tried eveything to get a bite and wonder why they divorced me like that.I already had my lips set on wrapping them around a KY steak or slab crappie that night.I told jessie I'd get over it in a few days and go back to being just a average fisherman like you, catching nothing lol.
I really don't understand why I didn't even get a niddle,I've always thought nomatter how full, cold or hot a fish, bird or human was.Aleast one or two out of the group would aleast take a bite or nibble during the day.I really hope its not a pattner that repets its seft though out the year for me.I want be able to stand to many days like that feeling heartbroken until the point I haveta use the red rod with the fuse in the end.

Thats why they call it fishing and not catching. Cheer up it was just a fluke day for you (did you try a fluke? just kidding) lol. I don't get to go enough to know what the fish are doing and most of the time I don't catch much. Get your starter fixed and get back out there.
On second thought you don't think it is possible that you have caught them all out of there? :)

Maybe you can work things out next trip, have one of those can't do anything wrong sweet heart trips. lol lol
-
Some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug. You've done well if you've never failed to catch a mess in 2 years. Be thankful for a day you got to rest from cleaning. It won't last.

Agree with RCC. When you think youre on "your game" with the fish is when they throw you a curve. It's tough when you go out and have a day like that but it happens. Just get right back on that horse and give it another try.:o

It's called reality! Maybe next trip you will be back on top. Hard lessons sometimes and you will recover just fine.

Really I wasn't going to post and amitt to catching nothing b/c I know Slabnta'ters is going to see it.Guess thats what happens when you run your mo'th and say something like"I see nothing hard about catching crappie".Wouldn't have been to heart breaking if I only had just gotten one nibble.
It was another fishermans lucky day tho,I seen a rod fall out of his boat as he idled by.He seen it too,he tried getting it by casting dragging bottom with no luck. When it fall out I pin pointed the spot as to know about where it may be.Not catching any fish and making 100's of cast trying to find the rod and reel I finally hooked the line, wow its a Z02.He had done gave up and motored up river,up river I went looking for him.The look on his face was thinks enough when I gave his rod and reel back to him.The reason it was his lucky day is b/c the Z02 is my farvoite reel too.

Paying dues...
I can completly relate to how you are feeling. I have been in situatiions where I couldn't get a bite and my fishing buddy was tearing them up! Hard pill to swallow, but I just look at it as paying dues. Keep your head up and know that you can't go no where but up! :D
We all can't roll 7's all the time...;)

Hey turtle I sure hope you didn't run out of cold drinks tooooooo

Went and got a hand full of please for give cards so maybe we can get back together again.
Went just driving around looking at different lakes today, didn't even take a pole or rod with me.Talked to 3 different fisherman and none was doing any good, two where useing minnows and the others jigs. They were crying too b/c of no fish not even a nibble.
To be honest I never had a problem with lockjaw crappie or bass until sunday. It has bugged me alot not knowing what to do b/c I tried everything besides the red rod which will work every time:D.
Has anybody seen or heard from Slabn'tarters, hope he is doing ok and not sick or something.
Cold drinks:D,I cann't even drink one without passing out in the floorRofl.Sure wish I could tho I like the taste of itDoh.

I use the screen name Noslab for a reason it happens and the name keeps me humble in preparation for the next time it does.
Noslab.

It's been pretty tough and humbling here lately too but it's starting to pick back up.

Hey, Turtlebait, if it will help you feel anybetter; you described my average day of crappie fishing. When I catch some, then I wonder what I did wrong. LOL.

With 20 to 30 mph wind not counting the gust I'm going thursday.
Had a friend fishing in the Newport area today,he called me at 1:30pm and said he was fixing to load the boat. Not even a bite,I talked him into trying something for me before he loaded his boat.I only have two floaters in my tackle box and do not like useing them,I'm a no floater watcher but know they have their place in catching crappie.I ask him to set the floater at 4in,make his cast and let it set and only let the wind work the float. At 3:30 he called back and said he had 15 and loading the boat he had supper.I said ok and ask at what depth did they take the jig,he said your not going to beleive it but caught them in 1 to 1 1/2 foot of water. For the last two days its bugged me bad as to why I didn't catch anything sunday, the old floater trick didn't even come to mind sunday. Then again I'm the type if you try putting a floater on my line I'll run 10 miles just to get away from you.
Like I told him sometimes crappie want chase nor fallow a lure nomatter how slow or fast it drops though the water depths. However they will take a jig thats doing nothing but hanging and looking them in the face and not going anywhere.
Maybe the reason for no fish in the cooler as of late they are swallower then we think...

More than a few times I've gone out on bad days, just going out to have something to do, and really mopped them up. Other days have looked really good, and didn't catch anything. One day in particular still haunts me; It was PERFECT! Couldn't go wrong! But didn't catch a fish. Guess that's why they don't call it 'catching'.

Thank you guys for all the support of us getting back together again,I turely miss them..\
Today I was going to try to make up with them but had second thoughts when I seen mr. white caps going up river dressed in has fancy whites.I knew if I tried messen with mr white caps today he'd splash water in my face I'm a lover not a fighter.Besides it want hurt them to suffer a little more like I have the last few days.
I know other people have no catch days but thats not me,ask around,at any time if someone wanted a mess,no problem.Bill Dance has nothing over me other then a tv show,I can trip fall stumble into fish like he does.He was my hero until he showed me how to make them wt. more, now he's my super hero going to great lenghts showing where to store extra wts.
Kidding aside,,had another friend call today,floater 4/6in.,in swallow water,farm lake off the bank,from 3:30pm to dark,24.

I cann't even catch a green carp anymore,I think tho when he seen me setting in the boat it scared him so bad he make a run for it to get away,he yellow.
Found out friday the reason I wasn't catching any crappie, they having special meetings at the boat ramp.I caught 2 small crappie,2 small bream and the yellow carp friday and the crappie were scared of me.The first one I caught he was just a shaking and a shaking saying please don't eat me Pleasssse don't eat me.I didn't think nothing of it until I caught the second one and he too was just a shaking and a shaking as tho scared to death of me.I said I'm not going to eat you little one and why are you so scared of me.He said at the special meeting at the ramp this morning they was showing a picture of me eating his grandma and grandpa and said you'd eat us too, don't bite his hook.I'm sure glad the bream didn't having nothing to say b/c It looks as tho I'm not going catch any crappie this year and maybe a few yellow carp.
