Just wondering how many Ole' Viet Nam vets we have on this site:confused:.
my cousin served about that time, but Uncle Sam didn't want me, bad knee.
I served in Vietnam in 67-68 C-130E crew chief
I was never in country but spent a lot of time steaming up and down the coast. Also spent 2 years directly supporting ops from an intelligence center in the Philippines.
I served from March 68 to March 69 in Lam Dong province with MACV. I was a radio operator working with ARVN soldiers. Good to hear from all the vets...!Hands Clapping
Guys, I can't thank you enough for your service. May God bless each of you!
Thanks to all who have served Thumbs Up, the American public owes you a debt that can never be repaid.
I did my most of my tour at Bien Hoa Air base in 71. I spent some time at DaNang too. I worked in a bomb dump.
I'm glad these folks get a lot nicer welcome than we did when we came home.
Man that was a long time ago. Sometimes it seems like yesterday, sometimes it seems like a million years.
I was about a year or two too young for Vietnam.
I missed the draft lottery by one year. I have always regretted not going into the military but with Nam winding down as I got out of high school and GIs being spit upon as they came home, I decided it wasn't for me. Some bunny-humper spitting in my face would have landed me in prison! That is a decision I wish I had made differently. My appreciation goes out to all who have served and fought for my rights to live in this great country.
Well, I was never spit upon but I was treated with a little disrespect. I still don't know why people took their anger out on the guys who were fighting. If you want to disrespect some one, let it be the politicians. They were the ones who made some bad decisions. Oh well, that's a whole nother topic..!Doh
I have never served in the military, but I would like to say THANK YOU to all the vets and active members on here. I appreciate all you do or have done for this great country.

USN 1965 to 1979 X2 on welcome Home. Thanks to everyone who has served and continues to serve today. Freedom ain't free
my dad is a vet....i take him fishing anytime he wants to go!!! he was always a hot rodder and i brought him down to kentucky lake a year ago...to this day it's all he talks about!! those are the memories we all live for...my heart gives a huge thank you to all military people for all the sacrifices you have made!!!
My Father went to Nam he was 17 when he inlisted, during his time over there he was awarded the purple heart, came home and served another 5 or 6 years inactive. He never talked about it, so I have never asked to much but when I did he told me he pulled jeeps out of the mud alot. I have always been PROUD OF MY DAD and I can remember when I was a senior in highschool I had a political science teacher that was supposedly teaching us about the war and the only thing he was teaching us was in his point of view is he was telling us the war was wrong. To make a long story short, when I heard him say that my blood boiled and I had some real choice words that was said and they had to get a few other teachers to get me to the principals office I wasnt violent or anything I just wouldnt leave the class because I was telling him what I thought of him and his class. After that I was excused from his class until the subject of the war was over. To this day I still dont respect that teacher nor will I ever. Thanks to all.
I wasn't born until 63. I do want to thank all who have served.
I pray for our military every day.
Thanks to all and God bless

EZGO,
Good job in standing up for what you know and believe was the truth and your father. I didn't get drafted in 71, my lottery number was 327 out of 365. They only took the first 183 that year. However, I lost 2 friends in the war and my mother in law lost a brother. I personally thank all of those that served and their call of duty in the Vietnam War in keeping our freedoms that we believe in.
Bassky
67-68 viet nam
Served 69 & 70 in Corps. Never went in country, last year was a bad one for 3 of my frends who served in Nam,they all died from cancer from agent orange. Vets are still dying for our country! I,m running out of fishing buddies. Dave
72-74. Please don't forget about the guys and girls that are serving now. No drafts or lotteries for them they put themselves on the line, got to give them a thumbs up for stepping up.
Was with 101Airborne-1966 & 67, got to do a lot of walking, thanks for remembering.
We still have a lot of military in harm's way so that we can enjoy our way of life. They need our support and prayers.
