I would check with my local bait shops and find out who their suppliers are.
These guys are good.
They ship overnight to you.
Anderson Minnow Farm -shiner minnows, fathead minnows
Slipcork: I checked out their website (Anderson's) and they don't have any price listings. Do you have a ballpark idea what they charge for the 5lb box? Shipping? I called but could not get anyone to answer. Their site says they are open till 4 and I called about 3:45. They want you to leave a message, but they will just call when I am at work.
I just bought a 5lb. bag here in Kentucky for 40.00.
Did you buy them from Andersons and had them shiped to you all for $40, or did you buy them local for $40?
Looks like a great price if you can keep them alive. Curious about total cost from Anderson's as well.
I checked with Andersons and for 5 pounds of #6 minnows shiped to any where in the USA they are ( I hope yiou are setting down) $90.
Minnows in bulk are fairly inexpensive here but shipping a bag of water and oxygen in an insulated box is expensive. Minnows probably less than 1/3 of the price, rest is shipping and handling. I have a buddy who's family raises Goldfish and Pink Minnows in Lonoke. They ship all over the place by air and truck loads. They even use jigs when we fish togather.
Minnows in bulk should run around $8.00 to $8.50/pound wholesale. $14.00/ pound retail.
Most bait shop I'd think could sell by the pound . I'm a tube jig guy .
I buy my minnows for $5.85 a pound for medium minnows here in Paragould, AR. Guess I'm lucky on that one.
yes you are quite lucky.
Shoot me a PM with your phone#, I'm not to far from you and may be able to help you out.
most bait wholesale dealers are isted in the phone book.
After seeing these prices you guys are throwing out I guess I'm lucky to have a fish farm in my area where I can pick up a pound for about $6
I think that all live to you door. I usto haul there fish all over the states. I take gold fish to new York two time a mouths. Now that was 20 years age
I go down to my creek, catch them, and then put them in a bucket with a pump :D Cost of minnow = little bit of time. (bought the net & pump a couple years ago)
