Them lines won't run themselves. Makes it a little easier getting out in weather like this knowing the fishing is picking up a little. Spent 2 hours yesterday evening getting enough bait to get close to 700 hooks baited last night. Hit and miss on the shad. Can get enough on 1 throw that I can't hardly lift the net, or can thorw 100+ times. Yesterday was a 100+++ day.
I am crazy enuff, and enjoy fishing when the weather is bad, be it sleet/snow, rain and thunderstorms. Some of the best fish I have ever caught was in bad weather. I caught some monster flatheads during t-storms one night, I caught one that weighed 63 pounds, one that weighed 54lbs, and two over 30 pounds. Some of the largest bass I have ever caught came during t-storms. When it comes to Crappie the nastier the weather the better I catch the crappie, mostly big slabs which equals big weight stringers. Deer hunting in nasty weather has payed big dividends in the past for me as well.
I would be if the boat wasn't in the shop..
I enjoy fishing in the snow, not a sound can be heared other then the snow falling in the water around you.I like fishing all bad weather, all but sleet, sleet is to dangerous for me besides it stings my ears like little sweat bees.
Just got back from checking out boat house and boats 4 inch of snow 24 degrees and more snow falling tried to get buddy my four footed partner to take short trip with me but he would have no part of it he seemed to be saying there will be another day pop ( HE may be smarter than myself but then again I catch more fish than he does ).
Noslab
I caught about 15 dinks and a 3 lb Channel Cat on jigs. Lots of ducks out on the lake. Saw 2 cool looking Eagles too. I hated the ride in with snow hitting my face. Beats sitting inside. Had someone call as I walked in wanting to go hog hunting!
man youve heard the old saying slide in fall in along as you can get in
I'm running lines in both the Wrightsville pool and the Conway pool right now. Conway pool is hammering right now. Has been for a couple weeks. Dec-Feb is always my best average pound per fish time of year, but my guy won't buy anything over 20 lbs or so unless it's an op, so I use 2/0 and 3/0 hooks mostly so I don't catch many big fish. There is some hosses there though.
I really don't take many pictures. Some folks think bunch of 3 & 4 lb catfish make boring pictures, so I just haven't taken any in a while. Here's one a Game Warden took of me one morning holding a couple op's I caught fishing out of Maumelle Park.

La Yard Dog, your pic looks a whole lot like this old guy I used to know whose name is really similar to a pretty good sausage maker I like to eat...
:) Good looking fish there.
Hey Jerry. This is Ben Batten. I took that picture! I'm a biologist, far from a game warden...
im crazy enough although my wife calls me stupid, going to go in the morning done got my hopes up all week to go been as excited as a kid at christmas(of course thats anytime i go hunting or fishing) so i aint gonna know what happens unless i go.
Gota work tonight but plan to go sunday and monday.
FroMan,
Everybody's an old man compaired to young 'uns like you!! I've been seeing the yo's are doing good on your lake. NICE!!
Ben,
No disrespect meant by calling you a Game Warden. Hell, I like all you AGFC guys!!! Remember we saw each other at the park a few days after you took that picture and I had a decent box of fish? The next day after that, I had a 40 and 2 that were pushing 20 with close to 200lbs not counting those 3 fish.
