I like it Wiskers! Shoot some pictures when you have em attached. Good idea.
How would yall go about mounting these to the Tite Lok Ultra posts. I was think'n bout drill'n them & using a U-bolt & wing nuts.
You can get a drill bit that the bolt head will go through and drill one side between the short pieces and drill to other side with bolt shank size that will give you 3 good points to fasten?
If I understand what he is saying , I think he means to drill a clearance hole between each pole holder that will let a screw head go threw but only drill the bottom of the pvc big enough for the threaded part go thru then attach to your tite lok brkt in 3 places
Wiskers.....I think this might be what they are trying to tell you. This is just my net holder but it is the same idea. I think this would work for you and look a bit more streamline that a u bolt clamp. See what ya think? http://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/...3/DSC02012.jpghttp://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/...3/DSC02015.jpg
This is what I was saying, That was writ in hillbilly!
What kind of pvc is your net holder with the flared end?
I see what you're say'n but I need & want to mount them centered in the post. Something like in the picture. I would also like to be able to remove them quickly & easily. Might even want to be able to slide them up & down on the post.

You could put two tees in the center of your rod holder and have them turn at different angles and then you could slide it over your rod holder shaft.
C-Clamp and wing nuts. Looks like another trip to Shop-o-rama.
I think them, they look really good the way you have it.
could try a couple of the small bungee cords or some velcro straps some use to keep electrical cords rolled up all nice and neat. would be easy to mount and cheap. Consider a U bolt/muffler clamp with wing nugs instead of the normal nuts.
I dont think you should do this unless you put some foam on the sharp edges of the cross bar, one bump on the rod and next fish it will break!!

Wiskers. They make a pvc fitting that is called a "slip t" fitting. If you got the right size it would slide right over your rod holder post and then you would have to plumb it into your rod holder. To slide it up and down you would probably have to pin it in that post? Just a thought. I might have one of those fittings in my "man cave". I will see if I can find it and send some pics.

Well I think I'm gonna go with the "U" bolt & Wing Nuts.
Before drilling any holes and mounting your vertical holder make sure your rods dont hit the rod holders.;)
Gonna drill the holes at a slight angle so that the rod holder will lean back away from the cross bar jusssssst a little bit.
Oh I also drilled small holes in the end caps on the bottom of the holders so they won't hold water.
Also thought about drill'n a small hole at the top so you can insert the hook and snug the line up. this will hold the rods in the holder if you hit a big wave at high speed.
Good job Whiskers. I have got to build me some.

Wiskers,
Don't know if this will help but here is that fitting that I was talking about. Just gives you something to think about. It could be plumbed in to the holder. Here ya go! http://i1017.photobucket.com/albums/...3/DSC02018.jpg
