Thanks maj.
You can also go to MDWFP web site and ask questions.
Thanks Mr. Jim.
So, what are your questions, maybe some of us can help.
Lost title to boat in house fire few years back. went to local tax and tag office to see if they could get me one. Well they say that is a wildlife and fisheries thing. So drive ou to bulta ranger office they say they have no idea were to file for new one. Come back home email jackson MDWFP office no responce in three days, call friday afternoon around 1400 and no answer.
I think all titles are issued by the state tax commission. I had to get one for a boat a few years ago that had never been registered and that's where I had to go. Try them.
Thanks maj. will try them, you have been more helpful then our wonderful goverment offices
Got a good friend that is a warden, so what is the problem? Call or PM me and I will give you his phone no. or ask him for you.
Sat just getting the run around on getting a replacement title for my boat. I think maj, might have steered me in the right direction
I had to do that several years ago on a trailer. Think I went to the courthouse/tax collector and they had the form to send off. Seems like I had to have something notarized too.
My game warden friend just verified that it is not the local tax idiots but the STATE office you have to get in touch with.
My boss, who is a title expert, say MS does not title boats. Other states might but MS doesn't. MS uses bill of sales between seller and buyer. By the way, titles are her profession.
Thanks guys
MS does not title boats since Katrina, only trailers.
ms does title boat mine was title about a year ago use it in a loan
Bought my boat new, no title. I called the bank to ask where it was, they said there is no title in MS. bill of sale is what you get.
I just talked to Possum Cop this afternoon at Grizzly Jig. he is still a TN GW but he is now a supervisor and doesnt get out of the office much. His screen name got deleted for some reason and he signed back up as Jimmy.
What can I do for you?
Gooed luck dealing with any government office! I do remember the bill of sale thing with the last boat I bought. Maybe that was what I needed to get my registration. I think it only took "3" trips to get her done. Don't get me started!
Ifn I'm not mistaken, boat titles in MS are an option. All you really need is your registration card handy and your drivers and feshin license ifn you get flagged down in the water.
MS is one off on boat titles or lack there of.
Most dealers will give you a certificate of origin, which is different from a title. The state does not issue a title on the hull though, but some MFGs do. The state does title trailers though. All you need when buying used is a bill of sale.
For a copy of the title on the trailer, you need the state tax commission.
Mississippi Department of Revenue - Title Bureau
Wannabe...
you will have to call jackson mdfwp..............the same place you send off for your registration, the state tax comm, if im not mistaken is on state street.
