I've tied on one and they work great but don't own one myself. Do YOU need one? I tie lots of jigs and haven't found a need for a fancy vice yet...as long as it's rotary and holds right you're good to go. Sure if I had a extra nice vice I'd use it but not needed unless you want to treat yourself to one. ;)
you have one for sale??
Skip ties on one and can give you the skinny, I'm sure.

I do and just answered your PM so tell me more i your next PM please so I can help a bit more.

I used and sold Nor Vise when I had the fly shop. I stated that if I were to serious about tying again I would use nothing but the Nor Vise. As far as cost goes it is all relative. If you played golf for a hobby you would not think anything about a $500.00 set of clubs. If photography is your thing look at what cameras cost when you get into the serous upper models. How about shooting shotguns at the gun club? When you consider the enjoyment of your hobby the Nor Vise is down right cheap.
I also tie saltwater stuff. How large a hook will the Nor-Vise hold?
Thanks,
Pete
Norm makes different jaws for different applications and you need to go to his site.. Go to Google and type in norvise. I think he also has a number where you can call. Norm is one of the nicest people you will ever talk to. Since I never got involved with salt water I can't be of much help in that department.
Jig we think alike....i know there are many vises out there that are capable of handling the job im wanting to perform, but i want to get something im pleased with...I looked at peak vises today and im very impressed with there salt water jaws....your right when you say the Nor-vise is cheap compared to what we spend on other things.
For salt water you might want to look at Dyna King and Renzetti. I used to sell Renzetti and their master with the salt water attachments will run you close to $1,000.00. But again so will the Dyna King. If you are going to make this a one time investment do not be in a hurry to buy.
Nor-Vise rocks!
I have 3 conversion kits I think.
I also have a lot of bobbins that are regular and use them most of the time, but I also have 4 of Norms auto bobbins and a bunch of spools.

Before I posted here I looked at the Nor Vise site and they didn't state what the largest hook the conversion kit would handle.

$1800.00 for a shotgun is pocket change. I am used to shooting the Perozzi at $18,000.00 up.. No I never owned one just shot one.

For that money it would have to be parked in the driveway. I used to carry a Remington 870 express in 410, full choke. Raised an occasional eyebrow when I held scores with the high end guns. Made a couple of em mad, them with a 12 ga skeet choke, and me with a 410 full choke. That was the fun part. Too expensive for me anymore.
My best round was shot with a Kreghoff, spelling may be wrong, 12 ga OU with 410 tubes in it.
