These are pretty common..you still have to mount the plate, but it allows you to move the transducer for best performance without drilling extra holes in the boat
Transducer Mounting Plate
thanks catch. i think that was what i was looking for. where can i find that 5200 glue stuff?
I have seen success with using 3M VHB Marine Grade double sided tape too. This is from their Very High Bound product line and have been told that it is available in auto parts stores as it is used to hold chrome details on cars. Use at your own risk though.
I know that some have installed the transducer mounting plates using silicone or some other type of removeable adhesive.
Than there are also transducer jigs that clamp to the top of the transom.
thanks greg. whatever way i mount it i will have a "safety rope" on the transducer incase something happens. the places i run with my boat it's a must to do that. or a kickup deal.
The way I did mine is on the bottom side of the motor mount there is aluminum deal held on with to bolts I think its for corrosion aint exactly sure. But I used an aluminum angle and bolted it to there and then bolt the TD to the other end. Heres a pic But since this pic I moved it outward 6in. to get away from the step in hull. No drilling boat at all.

bass pro has one that mounts on transom and can be adjusted up and down

$12.99 ea.................
thanks guys. greg said some mount it using silicone. will that stick that to the boat good?
Seems like I remember the number was like 3M 5200 sealant or something like that. Can't use it for an in-hull installation so I don't remember the exact number.
why not like the trolling motor mount for the rudder. but I like the transom mount at BPS that way you can use it on your toy boats
i've thought about that rich. i'm now hunting two old used no good trolling motors. i'm bad not to throw things away and it seems i remember an old shakespere 606 from long ago that played out and it may be over in the shop in mo. i had two of those and they were work horses.
I have used 100% silicone (clear) caulk-to glue transducer inside hull, and it stuck very well, lasted for yrs! ( ping shot thru alum hull OK)
I am thinking that I can glue one of those soft plastic plates to back of boat with silicone caulk. I use 5200 alot on saltwater stuff, but wouldn't suggest it for mounting transducer.
i never heard of a transducer shooting through an aluminum boat. back when i bass fished the big lakes i had my transducer in the well inside the boat.
Try this...

i use 5200 5 years ago on my and still there you just mount it in the right place first time
Your post is very unclear. You are saying you glued transducer to boat using only 5200? :) OR ? ( like most-- that use 5200, use a fastener of some type)Quote:
I am welding a 5 x 1 1/2 x 3/16 C-channel to the bottom side of my transom. this will allow me to do alot of drilling with out putting any holes in my boat.
