89 views and not one response....come on guys
You may need to be more specific in your title. Try Kissimmee Lake Tips and Help in the title. This may attract more of what you're looking for. I have never fished down there in Kissimmee. I bet you'll get more responses this way though.

January 12th.
I have not been this year (or the end of last) cause we moved and im still settling everything around the house. May be March before I get to spec fish.
Maybe nobody that has a recent report has read your post yet. Just because it has 89 views doesnt mean that it has been by members either, more guests visit crappie.com than members do. Im sure if any memebers have any info they would be glad to post.
What about me? You didn't take my advice. lol, I'm telling you if you ask for help in your headline title, you'll get it. And if you don't, you gotta call a couple of the fishcamps around the Kissimmee and St. Cloud area. Just trying to help.
Hey Cuzzin,
Camp Mack is a beautiful place.I personally have only fished bass tournaments out of there.
Nice people and facillities. The only drawback is that there are some that will like your equipment
better than you do, if you know what I mean!!!
Good Luck to you and I hope to see pictures of a successful trip!

There are some good people that own camp mack, and that live there. I have a longtime friend that lives just across the street. Ask at the camp and they will advise you some good fishing spots. If it was bass fishing I would recommend asking anyone. They all tournament fish and dont give up much. Crappie they don't mind sharing with there guest. If you run into an old fat grey headed fart that goes by Ledford tell Him that HK said hello. Ledford has a cabin behind his house that he rents .
If that does not work for you, just run south to the mouth of the river. Use your binoks to locate the biggest concentration of boats and go do what they are doing where they are doing it. look for local boats with Fla reg. Most likely the fish will be in the grass. The lake is not deep and everything is in the grass . Dont be afraid to move around. That lake can be intimidating , but it is a great fishery. I Bass fished for 17 yrs. and love.
I hav'nt fished there in quite a while, but if you launch out of Overstreet Landing, you should see boats fishing the outside edges of the Kissimmee grass & open water adjasent to the grass edges.................Cast minnows on slip floats while dabbelling the grass with jigs......before too long, you should be able to narrow in on a productive pattern.............
I knew someone would eventually chime in,
I have not fished Kissimmee this year as of yet, however, did a lot of fishing there past
7 yrs. ouT camp make, take the river into lake, turn slight let, go up the "pig trail"
(type of boat made canal) into the North Cove, fish he center and northern rim in the
8 - 10' water.............there are few old brush piles up there...........spider rig or slow,
slow troll. Bite is usually on from dawn till around 9:30am...than everything stops
until happy time 1 -1 1/2 hrs before sunset...............get into the grass off grassy island near a pig trail, use 12 - 14' long poles, fish from boat out to grass line, use
#7 shot and allowing about 4 - 5' from hook to cork...............sit back, wait for game
on...........will 0nly last about 1 hr.............but ye haa, then its dark....and its long
drive back to Mack unless you are night fishing.............than move out to deeper
water around bird - rabbit or southeast corner of strohm............look for 12 - 14'
fish the drop...................
There are some dandies in there..........have got my share of two pounder pluses......
enjoy
Alot of good info there and I thank everyone of ya, was going to try and leave in the morning but with this snow storm moving in looks like it will be Friday. If anyone is in the area stop in and have some fish (hopefully) and a beverage. Any time you get to Green River give me a shout, Thanks again for the Info.
I spoke with a old acquaintance just yesterday who is camped down there. Slow trolling minnows is producing some fish, but on the bright side, almost all were over 12". Look for the flotillas of boats, but you can start at the hourglass in hatchinenha or at marker 9. The 10' deep stuff with hydrilla in the north cove should be ok too.
When I see Lake Kissimmee....... I think near death
Made the mistake of listening to my brother and he talked me into fishing Kissimmee one fine August day........everything was great until the wind died and the sun started blazing.......it was like someone turned off the air. Completely cooked, inside out.
Watch the sun my friend :)
Got to keep the body hydrated at all times no matter what body of water a person is
on especially Kissimmee, due to no trees, just grass, grass & more grass..............
and lilly pads.............
Just got back late last night and man did we have a blast....caught the biggest crappie (specks) that I have ever had the pleasure of sinking a hook in. I want to thank everyone for there advice and help and to the locals at camp mack that I meet also. But also want to give a big shout out to fishin813 for all the everyday advice to see that we was putting them in the boat...buddy you are as good has they come.Thumbs Up Never got to meet you but you will always have a seat in my boat, just get to KY. Thanks again everyone and a big thanks to Crappie.Com Hands Clapping
you more than welcome "My Friend" Thats what fishin all about..........having fun
and relaxing......Come back again
Can anyone tell me if there is still primitive camping on the island between camp Mack and the river under the big oaks? We are thinking about taking the kids after thanksgiving dinner and camping a couple of nights and going after those big slabs. Thanks!!!
Was there for 10 days a week ago, was very windy and too windy for fishing, 9 mile marker was good early in the day but the fish being caught consistently were at Cypress Lake, up the canal. We caught 35 the last day a week ago there, jigs with blue on it and a minnow was the trick. Out of canal and right toward towers, locate water over 6 feet and hold on.
We will be back for the winter doing that after Christmas till March 2014. Hope this helps u to get a nice mess of fish.

there is camping there - on river from Camp Mack north to Hatchinaw on left side
of river. Don't know how many will be there a head of you. Usually the state
park is full for Thanksgiving ....and since its a 4 day ......lot will try and camp any
where they can find.
